Laugh without Reason Event (DE/EN)
Laugh without Reason Event (DE/EN)
Important information: The event will always take place regardless of how many people attend the meetup. There is always a second laughter yoga conductor (Heidi) and a couple of other regulars who don't use Meetup. Laughter Yoga is a unique concept that combines laughter exercises with yoga breathing to promote wellness and overall happiness. You will learn how to laugh without reason. The event is perfect for anyone looking to de-stress, boost their mood, and connect with others in a light-hearted and fun way. You don't need any yoga experience, just the willingness to laugh. **Do I need special clothing?** * Just wear comfortable clothes. Please bring some thick socks or clean shoes for the room. **Do I need anything else?** * It is essential to stay hydrated. Please bring some water. * Comfortable clothes. Thick socks or clean shoes for the room. * An open mind. **Is it free?** * Participation costs 5€. Alternatively, you can use Urban Sports Club. These costs are mainly used to cover rent for the room, meetup fees, flyers, etc. * Link for Urban Sports Club (USC): https://urbansportsclub.com/de/venues/laughter-yoga-club-kreativhaus **What does an event look like?** * We incorporate laughter exercises, breathing exercises, playful exercises, positive affirmations, and dancing. The event ends with a laughter meditation. **What if I can't laugh?** * Everything is voluntary. If you can't laugh, you can simulate it, and usually, people get into genuine laughter during the sessions. Laughter yoga is a great way to laugh more, to laugh deeper, and more frequently! **How many people show up?** * Usually, the group size was 2025 between 7 and 20 people. **Where is it?** * It's close to U2 Märkisches Museum. The Kreativhaus Berlin Mitte has one entrance. Please be there 5 minutes before we start. After 7 pm, it might be closed, and you either have to ring the bell or go around the house and watch out for the yellow smiley flag. The session takes place in "Projektraum 2/3". Sessions are either in German or English. We always make sure that everyone understands it. More information you can find here: [www.more-laughter.com](www.more-laughter.com)
DAY TRIP. to The Museum of Utopia and Everyday Life (Eisenhüttenstadt)
DAY TRIP. to The Museum of Utopia and Everyday Life (Eisenhüttenstadt)
**Visit to Museum and walk around the town and sculpture park** * sunset view over the Oder. Meet Time 9:10 Ostkreuz Platfrom 1 Duration: Whole Day. For any of you free in the weekdays this January, here is a mid-week expedition to an interesting town just an hour and a half away. We will walk round the town, visit the Museum of Utopia and Everyday Life and climb up to a viewing point to watch sunset over the Oder. Eisenhüttenstadt is a town that takes you back to the Utopian core of the DDR. The new town was built as an all-of-a-piece modern ideal for the workers at the local steel works. The population climbed by a factor of 5 from the 1950s to 1990, but has since more than halved. Lots of architectural interest from the 1950s and Plattenbau DDR styles. Its also a town packed with sculptures, murals, and other public art. See [here](https://geoportal.eisenhuettenstadt.de/gis/apps/storymaps/stories/1b7492b7a8374ceca75c13b96a4b1d3c) for details. And here for an [map of the town ](https://cdn.website-editor.net/s/bf2b459c96974667aa4bd535bfc0f6c7/files/uploaded/Kunstreich.pdf?Expires=1771108263&Signature=VYkfBYKGWuZflsae~DQcldYuXjcnaMO1cwPiFD4LoI8yKYEAT-hFG8Xk6qXW97pDDTm44~VbGeTMs69W1VgvKa~aa~-3Q2URcKIjGBqN6P38mtY3d83h6B9skdIYxVZfO5HrqtXWcTju1pIWF9s5OEQPyRFBH94KIN07cL6iFWedMjP1c1kS9jxUDq8~P1SSOyn9hb86YFY4PhfIYJ2ibylp0m5JhI7QdYO~snrF1aLoxPNZWvEQrB2KBjmlHQj09SLlz4o~EjDoh2YfKHYat8TC9sBJpeM6OCkquW8Ootz6myCFUsWmxdsK7j~HxNlMhjR-Qxwva2v65QFfecNVlQ__&Key-Pair-Id=K2NXBXLF010TJW) Meet on the platform 1 at Ostkreuz station at 9:10. Or just get on the RE1 to Frankfurt Oder anywhere in Berlin and meet us on the train that departs Ostkreuz at 9:16. Walking: This is not really a walk, but Eisenhüttenstadt is spread out, so if we do the full Rundgang of all the sites on foot it is about 8 km. - lots of breaks and options to skip for those who dont want to do this.

The Meadow – Orga Circle 🦋 Social Butterfly Club
The Meadow – Orga Circle 🦋 Social Butterfly Club
Would you like to support and engage in building a social club for newcomers in Berlin? Every year, thousands of people move to this city knowing almost no one. The Social Butterfly Club exists to help newcomers find connection, belonging, and an active social life — and The Meadow is the weekly organizing circle where this work happens. **The Meadow** is a calm, recurring meetup for people who want to help shape and sustain the club together. It’s a practical working circle for those who enjoy showing up regularly, taking responsibility, and contributing to something that grows over time. No prior experience needed — just reliability, curiosity, and a willingness to engage. About The Social Butterfly Club 🦋 is a Berlin-based community that has been bringing people together for over three years. Each gathering is part of a larger framework designed to help friendships grow through shared experiences in the city — with a long-term vision of turning Berlin itself into a shared, playful experience. Curious to learn more about the Social Butterfly Club? You can explore the bigger picture and stay connected here: [https://social-butterfly-berlin.kit.com/join](https://social-butterfly-berlin.kit.com/join) Questions? Check our FAQs: [https://socialbutterfly.berlin/meetup-faq/](https://socialbutterfly.berlin/meetup-faq/) Meet your host I’m Julia — a Berlin local who loves bringing people together. My path went from growing up in a dance school to studying philosophy to working in IT support, and somehow all of that led me here: hosting meetups and creating spaces where people can show up, relax, and connect. Afternoon Walk+Coffee in Berlin: Volkspark to Postdamer 👣🚶🚶‍♀️❄️🥐☕🍪
Afternoon Walk+Coffee in Berlin: Volkspark to Postdamer 👣🚶🚶‍♀️❄️🥐☕🍪
1 EURO DONATION FEE PER PERSON IS REQUIRED (on site, in cash), to pay back the Meetup subscription fees and support my Events. READ THE DESCRIPTION WITH THE INFO (IMPORTANT). We take a walk in Berlin to meet new people or people we already know 😁 It's a way to spend a few hours together on a Sunday afternoon. **How it works?** The concept is very simple: * We meet at Boddinstr U Bahn Station at 14,15 o'clock (we use the Whatsapp Chat to find each other: I will post there my exact location outside the station) * I wait for people for 10 minutes, till 14,25, then we start to walk direction Volkspark Hasenheide, crossing the entire park 🌳🌳🌳 and going then further * We go on reaching then Park am Gleisdreieck 🌲🌳☘️ * We finally reach KERB at Potsdamer Platz (https://maps.app.goo.gl/cT3642AqjumEMuCP9) to sit down together to take something to drink or eat 🥐☕🍪 * The total length of the walk is about 8kms I consider that the event will last in overall around 4 hours (2 hours of walk and 2 hours at Kerb), but people are free to stay together longer, if they want 🙂 What I provide is leading the walk and the people at Kerb, but I do not force anyone to stay shorter or longer. I do not provide a "personal support" for people who arrive after 14,25 (do not write to me expecting "private support"). You are responsible to check for the weather and decide if come or not. Thanks for understanding. If you have to contact me, make it via Whatsapp, not here on Meetup. WHATSAPP GROUP 💬 to find each other (join it, we use this group to find and synchronize us) [https://docs.google.com/document/d/157uLVXObKt1a4NqqvPa09NJW-050YBwHLW-7DbOD8R8/](https://docs.google.com/document/d/157uLVXObKt1a4NqqvPa09NJW-050YBwHLW-7DbOD8R8/)

Ski/Snowboard - Liberty Mountain + Hot Pot Hero
Ski/Snowboard - Liberty Mountain + Hot Pot Hero
Winter calls for a different mountain experience - let's trade in our hiking boots for ski boots and hit the slopes! We will meet at North Bethesda Metro (previously named White Flint) at 8AM and carpool to the resort. Drive time is about 1 hour and 30mins - Please post a comment below if you are willing to drive. Carpooling saves the environment and makes friends. ## **Mountain Facts** * **Terrain Difficulty:** 35% green runs, 40% blue runs, 25% black runs * **Lifts:** 8 * **Trails:** 16, 2 terrain parks * **Highest Elevation:** 1,190 Feet * **Lift Tickets:** Epic Season Pass or Single-Day Lift Ticket: https://www.libertymountainresort.com/plan-your-trip/lift-access/tickets.aspx * **Parking:** North Bethesda Metro Parking Garage **Trip Details:** Let's give Liberty a shot this time. Liberty is a small ski resort, but with a drive less than 2 hours, it's easy to get to the mountain and back home in time for dinner. Liberty is thought of as being more beginner friendly than the nearby Whitetail, but does offer several large terrain parks. This is not designed as a trip to help with ski/snowboard instruction. However, Liberty does offer both lessons and rentals. On the way back, I plan to stop at a hot pot restaurant called Hot Pot Hero in Gaithersburg, MD. Address is 100 Paramount Park Dr, Gaithersburg, MD 20879. **WHAT TO BRING:** * Ski/snowboard gear (rentals available onsite) * Lift ticket or season pass (available onsite) * Warm layers, gloves, and goggles (available onsite) * Helmet - optional (available onsite) * Snacks, water, and electrolytes (available onsite) * Steez **LIFT TICKETS:** You will need to either purchase an Epic Season Pass or single-day lift tickets. The ticket prices vary, but I recommend purchasing them well in advance as they can (and do) sell out. For more info: https://www.libertymountainresort.com/plan-your-trip/lift-access/tickets.aspx **LIABILITY NOTICE:** Please remember that this group operates under the common adventurer model. We are a group of friends and volunteers organizing trips for fun and shared experience. Participants are expected to be familiar with best snowboarding/skiing practices and choose trails that align with their physical abilities and experience. Organizers and members are not liable for any injuries, loss, or damage to persons or property arising from group activities. By attending this event, you agree to assume all risks associated with the activity. For more information on the common adventurer model, please see [Ron Watters' definition](https://www.ronwatters.com/CADefine.htm). If you believe you may be lost on the mountain, follow the advice of the [US Forest Service](https://www.fs.usda.gov/visit/know-before-you-go/if-you-get-lost). See you on the slopes!
Keys Gap to David Lesser Shelter and Harvest Gap Brewery (7 miles, 948 ft)
Keys Gap to David Lesser Shelter and Harvest Gap Brewery (7 miles, 948 ft)
*Please join the waitlist if the event is full! Folks will be added manually from the waitlist.* Join us for a pleasant and relatively gentle hike on the Appalachian Trail in Virginia. The highlight of this hike is the David Lesser Shelter, which features a swing, large seating and picnic areas and other minor attractions. The trail has only a moderate amount of elevation. However, we consider this hike moderately challenging due to its length. We’ll move at a steady 2-3 mph pace with a break at the aforementioned Lesser Shelter, which is also our turn-around point. We'll take other quick breaks on the trail as needed. Please carry a minimum of 1 to 1.5L of water with you. Meet time & location: We'll meet at 8:15 am at the East Falls Church (EFC) metro station to consolidate into as few cars as possible given the limited parking at the trailhead. The trailhead is about an hour from EFC. Route: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/west-virginia/appalachian-trail-keys-gap-to-david-lesser-memorial-shelter Brewery (also has food): https://harvestgap.com/ CARPOOLING: We encourage those with cars to be willing to carpool - you're the ones who make LMH great! If you're a driver that is willing to drive, please post a comment on the event page with the following information: (1) Number of seats (2) Meeting location (3) Meeting time As a rider, please comment on the driver's post to take a seat or post in the comments that you need a ride so a driver can find you. Riders are encouraged to help their driver out with the cost of gas. By signing up for this event, you acknowledge and agree that Late Morning Hikers, its volunteer organizers, and drivers who volunteer to carpool are not responsible or liable for accidents, injuries, damage, or losses that may occur while traveling to or from the hike. Late Morning Hikers does not condone or encourage impaired driving. Drivers are expected to follow applicable laws and make responsible transportation choices. We look forward to hiking with you! BACKGROUND INFO ABOUT LMH: Please remember that this group is an informal group of friends and volunteers initiating trips under the common adventurer model ([http://www.ronwatters.com/CADefine.htm](http://www.ronwatters.com/CADefine.html)). We do expect our members to be familiar with the best practices of hiking. This is not a group for first time hikers and is NOT a group for those seeking hiking instruction. We are also not professionals, nor are we trained hike leaders, nor do we scout out hikes. We plan hikes for fun. You are responsible for your own welfare and safety at all LMH events. Be sure to choose to attend hikes only within your own physical abilities and and hiking knowledge; take maps, suitable clothing, provisions (at least two liters of water plus any food or medical supplies you might require) and equipment, and act responsibly and safely at all times.
