## What we'll do $26 per person for 2 hours of training (includes table hire) The sound of the ball, the paddle in your hand – playing table tennis is simply fun. Although often wrongly disregarded by the sports fans around the world, this physical activity will keep your body, mind, and spirit extra fit. You will be attending a group session which is currently held every Monday at MSAC in Albert Park. This will give you an insight of what is involved and how we run our sessions. This particular session for you will be divided into 2 parts. The first part will involve different group activities focusing on different table tennis shots while playing with other meet up attendees. This will give you a chance to get to know each other as well as improve your table tennis skills together. The second part will involve the whole group which include both regular weekly players and meet up attendees. You will continue to do different activities as well as play matches in a fun and enjoyable way. The session will be led by myself and another highly qualified victorian state coach. Dress in comfortable clothes and runners. Balls and bats are provided but feel free to bring your own bat. Meet us at the Table Tennis Hall and ask for Peter when you arrive. How to Get There Train - From the city, catch a Craigieburn Line train and get off at Newmarket Station, which is 3 stops from Southern Cross Station or 2 stops from North Melbourne. Exit the station, walk 200 metres to Racecourse Road. Head east (away from the station) along Racecourse Road for 250 metres. Then turn right into Rankins Road. The RSL is about 100 metres down Rankins Road, on your left. Tram - The No. 57 tram from the city to West Maribyrnong stops about 200 metres away from the RSL. Get off at stop 25 (Wellington St & Racecourse Rd). Head east along Racecourse Rd and turn right into Rankins Road. Driving - Park along Rankins Road or Parsons Street (around the corner). If you park along Rankins Road outside the RSL, there is a 2-hour limit. But if you park further down Rankins Road (one block further), there is no limit. How we conduct our sessions For the first 20 minutes we usually play very easy songs which are suitable for beginners (even complete beginners), and serve as a warm-up for more experienced players. Beginners, try to attend this part of the session, it's the most important bit for you! The next 30 minutes is usually devoted to learning new songs, according to the theme of week. There will be a 10-minute break in the middle and the last hour is spent playing songs that participants pick from a list. Important If you are late, please use the meetup app to send messages to me. **Daniel Neihoff** is an *emerging singer/songwriter from Paducah, KY*. He has been described as “one of the best storytelling songwriters in Nashville.” Daniel grew up in a family of songwriters, with both his father and grandmother crafting melodies and lyrics. He wrote his first song at 8 years old, surrounded by a family fit for country songs – the old kind about struggle and lonesomeness, mistakes among enduring love. The melodies and legends were all around him in his family, and it all seeped in. His accolades are impressive: he won the Kerrville New Folk Competition in 2019, was a 3-time finalist of Songwriter Serenade, placed 3rd in the Woody Guthrie songwriter contest, and won the Rocky Mountain Songwriters Contest in 2023.
