Do you love Indian food but aren't sure how to begin making it yourself? Or do you need a refresher in Indian cooking ingredients and techniques? Then be sure to join the Mystic Kitchen's "Indian Cuisine 101" class to unravel the mysteries of Indian cooking. We'll start with a tutorial to guide you through five essential ingredients sure to put new spice into your life. Next we'll master a classic Indian meal through step-by-step instructions for making chicken tikka massala, aromatic basmati rice, and saag paneer and a hearty chickpea/lentil dish. The class includes all the recipes and instruction you will need to create your own Indian feast at home.

We are meeting in person at Elwood Smith Community Center, Rockville. \*\*\* The community-singing event where where everything's made up and the point — to sing for our lives — matters. Our leaders will teach you parts to sing for spontaneously-composed choral pieces. We play a variety of listening/music/singing games, and create safe opportunities for participants to improvise as little or as much as they might like. Good for all skill levels, shower-singers to seasoned pros, no sheet-music-reading required. This month we welcome special guest and co-leader [Micah Hendler](http://micahhendler.com/), a musical changemaker building community through song - with Palestinian and Israeli youth in the [Jerusalem Youth Chorus](http://jerusalemyouthchorus.org/), here in the DMV through [Community Sings at Levine Music](https://www.levinemusic.org/performance/community-sings/), and more. \*\*\* We usually meet on the second Sunday of the month, and will continue to meet in-person as long as it makes sense. This is an absolute beginner Bachata group class. It is specifically designed for those with no prior experience in Bachata and participations does not require having a partner. $25 per person for 90 minute class. Join us at 11:30 a.m. for a meditation class led by Khenpo Karze, followed by a public talk and Q&A. The meditation focus varies from class to class. We are currently learning how to meditate on the Four Immeasurables: loving-kindness, compassion, sympathetic joy, and equanimity. The class begins with 30 minutes of meditation instruction, followed by 5-10 minutes of meditation practice, and then continues with discussion and Q&A. Each session concludes with a brief Chenrezig practice in which we recite Om Mani Padme Hung (a prayer of compassion), and a dedication prayer that our efforts benefit all beings. This class offers a strong foundation in meditation, helping cultivate inner peace and compassion amidst busy lives. All are welcome! He has received teachings and empowerments from many great Nyingma masters, and taught extensively in various Palyul temples in Nepal, India, Europe and Taiwan. This is his first time in the USA. We are delighted that Khenpo is now in residence at KPC and will be providing traditional Dharma instruction to help us deepen our practice of wisdom and compassion.

Hello piano players: I hope you can attend our next meeting – it will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 from 1 – 5 pm at my house, 5612 Cromwell Drive, Bethesda, MD 20816. I will open the doors at 12:30 if you would like to warm up on the piano. I would like to start at 1:00 pm so please show up a few minutes early. Also, reach out to a friend and work up a duet – they are fun and always welcome. In the past we have had duets with two pianos, with singers, and with the clarinet, and they bring a nice variety of music to our meetings. We will have snacks, finger food, light drinks, beer and wine, but your donations of food and drink are always welcome. Parking is on the street near my house. I hope to see you on February 28th.
