Break Free from Burnout: Hands‑On Workshop to Reclaim Energy & Focus
### Personal Efficiency Course® — Connect, Learn & Energize
Looking to meet new people, explore practical life skills, and have a memorable, interactive experience? Join us for a special gathering of like‑minded professionals eager to reclaim their energy and focus while making new friends.
**Why attend?**
Work can be all‑consuming. Many of us carry the mental load of work after hours, juggle urgent tasks and personal commitments, or feel like we’re constantly “on”. In this down‑to‑earth, in‑person workshop, you’ll connect with others who feel the same way and learn simple yet powerful methods to restore energy, stay present, and take control of your day.
**What you’ll experience together**
* A friendly, small‑group setting (10 seats only!) where you can share stories, insights and laughter
* Practical tools to identify the sources of stress and exhaustion, stay focused during demanding days and truly leave work at work
* Interactive exercises, discussions and a personality test that help you understand your strengths and how to grow
* Refreshments and opportunities to chat and network during break
You’ll also leave with a copy of *The Problems of Work*, a certificate of completion and (for many past attendees) newfound friends and confidence.
**Who’s it for?**
People who keep the gears turning behind the scenes—professionals who support others, work long hours, or manage heavy workloads. Whether you’re on your feet all day or in a fast‑paced office, if you’re looking for practical techniques and a supportive community, this meetup is for you. *It’s not for anyone looking for a quick fix or magic pill.*
**Agenda overview:**
* We’ll kick off with a **personality test**, giving you the most accurate and reliable assessment of your unique traits and how they may help or hinder your potential.
* After a short break, you’ll dive into the **Personal Efficiency Course**, a 2.5‑hour, eight‑section workshop (with a mid‑session pause) that explores topics like the foundations of success, clearing confusion, the anatomy of control, Affinity‑Reality‑Communication (A‑R‑C) and the Tone Scale, the Eight Dynamics, exhaustion, and what it takes to truly succeed.
* At the end you’ll receive a **certificate of completion**, and you’ll also have the opportunity for a **complimentary one‑on‑one evaluation** with a trained staff member to review your personality analysis, identify strengths and weaknesses, and map out your best path toward lasting success.
**How to RSVP**
***Please note we are asking for a small fee for this event to cover the costs of refreshments, delivery and materials. Actual registration happens off Meetup. Once you RSVP here, click the link in the event details to complete your sign‑up via our external registration site.*** [CLICK HERE](https://699295.17hats.com/p#/scheduling/cfckphkxxpdwtbtwzghhfvbtnhgwstwb)

D.A.D.S. Workout
If you’re a dad over 35, you probably feel it:
* Your energy isn’t what it used to be.
* Work stress drains you before you even get home.
* The weight has crept on around the middle.
* Your kids still have endless energy, but keeping up with them feels harder every year.
And deep down, you know your family looks to you as the example. If you’re running on empty, short on patience, and out of shape, that’s the standard you set at home.
The **D.A.D.S. Program (Dads Achieving Discipline & Strength)** was built for men like you. Ordinary guys with jobs, families, and full schedules who want to:
* **Reclaim strength** so you feel capable, athletic, and confident again.
* **Boost energy** so you’re sharp at work and fully present with your family.
* **Drop the aches, stiffness, and sluggishness** that make you feel older than you are.
* **Find balance and accountability** by training alongside other dads in the same fight.
* **Crush male loneliness** by connecting with men who “get it” and have your back.
Here’s the best part: You don’t need to be a seasoned gym rat. This is designed for **beginner to intermediate exercisers**—dads who may have been out of the gym for years or have never had a structured program, but know it’s time to get serious.
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings, we’re hosting **Meet-Up Workouts from 6:00–6:45 AM.** No strings attached. Just one powerful hour that could be the turning point in your health, energy, and family life.
There are only **8 spots available**, and once they’re gone, they’re gone.
Location: Revolutionary Fitness - 215 N. Payne St., Alexandria, Va 22314

Premier League Goal Rush
I've waited as long as possible. It's matchweek 24 (of 38) this weekend, and the pick of the action is undoubtedly Arsenal v Manchester United on Sunday at 11:30 am. Unfortunately, though, we have a large snowy weather event expected late Saturday afternoon through Sunday into Monday. To avoid any hassle and unnecessary safety concerns, let's all watch that one safe and warm at home.
We can still do something, though. Let's pull an audible and get together before all that mess comes in - there are three matches kicking off at 10 am on Saturday:
* Manchester City v Wolverhampton Wanderers
* Fulham v Brighton & Hove Albion
* Burnley v Tottenham Hotspur
We'll be meeting from 9:30 am for a bit of breakfast and to watch all the action as it happens - Join Us!
Sunday Brunch (1/25) at Zinnia in Silver Spring

Learn Meditation and Stress Management in MD
Learn to manage stress and achieve self-growth through simple relaxation and Meditation.
Heartfulness Meditation is a simple, modern, methodical approach to meditation. Rather than homing in on your breath or repeating a mantra, you simply focus inward, on your heart, to cultivate inner strength and serenity. Heartfulness meditation is gaining traction in recent years. It focuses on the heart, allowing individuals to connect with themselves on a deeper level, and ultimately achieve peace, relaxation, and clarity. It is a practice that encourages patience, self-compassion, and acceptance, helping cultivate a deeper appreciation for the present moment.
This practice is offered with love and at no cost

Join us for a playdate at the Wheaton Library! There is a nice area for children to engage in free play while the parents get to know each other. There is a cafe on-site (coffee, pastries and light fare), but food and beverages aren’t allowed in the play area.
Not a Montgomery County resident? We’re residents but have never been asked to show our card. We simply walk in and go directly to the children’s section (after you walk into the library turn left and head all the way back).

Discussing - "Lady Tan's Circle of Women" by Lisa See
\*NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER!\*
From “one of those special writers capable of delivering both poetry and plot” (The New York Times Book Review) an immersive historical novel inspired by the true story of a woman physician in 15th-century China—perfect for fans of Lisa See’s classics Snow Flower and the Secret Fan and The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane.
According to Confucius, “an educated woman is a worthless woman,” but Tan Yunxian—born into an elite family, yet haunted by death, separations, and loneliness—is being raised by her grandparents to be of use. Her grandmother is one of only a handful of female doctors in China, and she teaches Yunxian the pillars of Chinese medicine, the Four Examinations—looking, listening, touching, and asking—something a man can never do with a female patient.
From a young age, Yunxian learns about women’s illnesses, many of which relate to childbearing, alongside a young midwife-in-training, Meiling. The two girls find fast friendship and a mutual purpose—despite the prohibition that a doctor should never touch blood while a midwife comes in frequent contact with it—and they vow to be forever friends, sharing in each other’s joys and struggles. No mud, no lotus, they tell themselves: from adversity beauty can bloom.
But when Yunxian is sent into an arranged marriage, her mother-in-law forbids her from seeing Meiling and from helping the women and girls in the household. Yunxian is to act like a proper wife—embroider bound-foot slippers, recite poetry, give birth to sons, and stay forever within the walls of the family compound, the Garden of Fragrant Delights.
How might a woman like Yunxian break free of these traditions and lead a life of such importance that many of her remedies are still used five centuries later? How might the power of friendship support or complicate these efforts? A captivating story of women helping each other, Lady Tan’s Circle of Women is a triumphant reimagining of the life of one person who was remarkable in the Ming dynasty and would be considered remarkable today.
