It's better when we're together. Come and experience the power of the WHM with a wonderful group of people. We breathe, we go into the cold and we teach our bodies to heat up properly. We develop resilience and the mindset to use these powerful healing tools over and over again, all year round. This gathering is fully guided by Wim Hof instructor Steve Beattie. If you are new to this, come on down, enjoy the support and practice in a safe way with us. If you already have a WHM practice this meetup is a great way to take it to the next level, and make lots of new friends. There will be a fire, snacks and drinks shared by other attendees. We have been doing this 6 for years! **What to bring?** * Yoga mat * Weather-appropriate clothing (better to dress too warm!) * Bathing suite, towel * Water shoes (optional) In extreme weather being prepared is very important. Especially if it's your first time, please read up on how to come prepared [here.](https://www.breathinginnature.com/wim-hof-method-meetup/) Learn more about our Wim Hof meetups, workshops, breath classes, wilderness trips, medicine work and special events at **[Breathing in Nature](https://breathinginnature.com/)**. An opportunity to serve the homeless and those at risk as a group. During our recent sessions, we served meals, chopped veggies, made sandwiches, and helped prepare pasta. Each session is similar; however, tasks may vary depending on the need at hand (e.g., sorting food). *We had a great time serving together with lots of smiles and good energy.* **Only 6 spots available. Please RSVP only if you’re committed to attending.** The organization relies on our confirmed number to plan and serve properly that day, so *your RSVP really matters.* When you arrive at Reception, the staff will guide you to the volunteer room, where you can place your belongings in a locker and meet the group. Cognitive Congress (in-person meeting)
Come share your views on philosophy, politics, popular opinion or whatever debatable topic that deserves more discussion. The Atheist Community of Toronto's Cognitive Congress hopes to provide a fertile discussion environment where attendees can debate topics chosen by attendees. A brief overview of the format: * Cards will be provided to attendees to fill out if they have a topic or idea they wish to discuss. * Cards will be selected at random for group discussion, until the topic has been exhausted. * We value civil discussion so please keep interruptions to a minimum and volume to a reasonable level. * As we are meeting in a restaurant, it would be appreciated if attendees order food and/or drinks (and don't forget to pay!)

❄️🌿 St. Clair West to Yorkdale: A Winter Ravine-to-City Walk 🌿❄️
❄️🌿 **St. Clair West to Yorkdale: A Winter Ravine-to-City Walk** 🌿❄️ **An easy, scenic winter walk you don’t want to miss** This is one of those walks that reminds you why Toronto is such a fascinating city — where nature, neighbourhoods, and everyday life all blend together. Join us for a **beautiful 90-minute winter walk** that takes us from leafy ravines to one of Toronto’s most iconic malls, all at a relaxed and social pace. ✨ We’ll start at **St. Clair West Subway Station** and head into the peaceful **Cedarvale Ravine Trail**, one of the city’s hidden winter gems. Snow-dusted paths, quiet trees, and fresh air make this the perfect way to enjoy winter without feeling overwhelmed by it. ❄️🌲 From there, we’ll continue along a trail that runs beside **Allen Road**, offering a surprisingly calm walk through the city’s infrastructure and green spaces. We’ll pass through **Wenderly Park**, a small but lovely park that connects communities, before making our way through the **Allen Centre**, a charming local mall that feels like a little pause in time. 🏙️☕ One of the highlights of this walk is moving through the **Lawrence Heights community**, an area with a rich and important history in Toronto. As we walk, you’ll get a sense of how the city has evolved — from postwar housing development to one of Toronto’s most talked-about neighbourhood revitalizations. It’s a walk that quietly tells a story, without ever feeling like a lecture. 💛 We’ll end our journey at **Yorkdale Mall**, where warmth, food, and good company await. Depending on time and group size, we’ll either sit down together at **The Cheesecake Factory** or keep things casual with lunch in the food court — either way, it’s a perfect, cozy finish after a winter walk. 🍽️❄️ This walk is **easy, social, and totally manageable in winter**, making it a great way to get outside, move your body, and actually connect with people — without rushing or pushing yourself too hard. 📱 **Don’t forget to join our WhatsApp group** – [CLICK HERE!](https://chat.whatsapp.com/H59mSCbsAi018gYANrKAnc?mode=ac_t) \*\*\* \#\#\# ❄️ Meetup Details ❄️ ⚠️ **Please Note:** This is a true winter walk. Stoa of Ontario Monthly Meeting
Stoa of Ontario Monthly Meeting
We are a monthly meetup where we get together and discuss Stoic Philosophy and it's practical application to life. All are welcome, including those new to Stoicism and everyday practitioners. Out meetups are casual and we typically discuss a new Stoic quote each month. The meetup is held at one of our member's home in Toronto for a few hours each month. A little about Stoicsm, simply put, Stoicism was designed to help people live their best possible lives. It’s a philosophy of life that maximizes positive emotions, reduces negative emotions and helps individuals to hone their virtues of character. At any moment, in any situation, and at any stage of life, Stoicism provides a framework for living well. It reminds people of what is truly important, providing practical strategies to get more of what is valuable. Stoicism was deliberately created to be understandable, actionable and useful. Practicing Stoicism doesn’t require learning an entirely new philosophical lexicon or meditating for hours a day. Instead, it offers an immediate, useful and practical way to find tranquility and improve one’s strengths of character.

We Were Made for These Times (hybrid)
We Were Made for These Times (hybrid)
We all go through times when it feels like the ground is being pulled out from under us. What we relied on as steady and solid may change or even appear to vanish. In this era of global disruption, threats to our individual, social, and planetary safety abound, and at times life can feel overwhelming. Not only are loss and separation painful, but even positive changes can cause great stress. Yet life is full of change: birth, death, marriage, divorce; a new relationship; losing or starting a job; beginning a new phase in life or ending one. Change is stressful, even when it is much desired or anticipated—the unknown can feel scary and threatening. In We Were Made for These Times, the extraordinary mindfulness teacher Kaira Jewel Lingo imparts accessible advice on navigating difficult times of transition, drawing on Buddhist teachings on impermanence to help you establish equanimity and resilience. Native Plant Book Club: Animal, Vegetable, Miracle
Native Plant Book Club: Animal, Vegetable, Miracle
Join our partners Watermark Woods Native Plants, Loudoun County Public Library (LCPL), and Birch Tree Bookstore for the Read! Plant! Grow! Book Club, which focuses on native plants, sponsored by Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy and LCPL. At this meeting we’ll discuss the book Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by Barbara Kingsolver. Both memoir and journalistic investigation, this book explores how the Kingsolver family took on a new challenge: to spend a year on a locally -produced diet, paying close attention to the provenance of all they consume. Concerned about the environmental, social, and physical costs of American food culture, they hoped to recover what Kingsolver considers our nation’’s lost appreciation for farms and the natural processes of food production. You can either buy the book from Birch Tree Bookstore or contact Allison Forbes at [Allison.forbes@loudoun.gov](mailto:Allison.forbes@loudoun.gov) to borrow a copy of the book at the library. There are two ways to participate: attend the event online via the library website or [sign up to participate in person at Birch Tree Bookstore](https://www.birchtreebookstore.com/event-details/read-plant-grow-2026-02-24-18-30). ***Questions:*** *Contact [info@loudounwildlife.org](mailto:info@loudounwildlife.org)*.
