Tea Poetry and Meditation Circle Weekly
Please join us. We are a group of 6-12 people who come together weekly on Mondays for an hour of silent meditation, walking meditation. No RSVP needed; just show up! We all need more silence and peace in this world. We end with tea and snack and a poem with sharing. Our guiding teacher has practiced Zen meditation for 25 years, but we all share leadership. Beginners or anyone interested in silent meditation and fellowship are welcome. We sit in chairs, have a reading or brief instruction, a bell and silent meditation for 10 minutes, followed by walking meditation, a bell and 20 minutes of silent meditation. We end with an offering of tea and a snack, conversation and a poem and reflections. A warm and welcoming group. Free, please join us. Join our team as we take care of the Wisteria right outside 8-acre park and work on the other invasive vines on trees within the park. We had 12 people at our first event and had a blast! The cold weather just made the work easier. NOTE! There is no parking in that area. You have to park on Main Street or in the church lot at the corner of Chapel Street and Main. Dear friends, Please join Wake Up DC for an afternoon of mindful volunteering in celebration of the Martin Luther King Jr Day of Service. We will gather at Picnic Pavilion 29 in Rock Creek Park at noon to enjoy an hour of sitting, walking, and tea meditation, as well as sharing about our teacher, Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh's friendship and collaboration with Martin Luther King Jr. At 1 PM, we will join Rock Creek Conservancy at Piney Branch Mini-Oasis for \~2 hrs of litter clean up. Tools and supplies will be provided. Ruggers! Break out your swimsuits and join the coolest Special Olympics supporters in Northern Virginia. West Potomac RFC is once again coming together to support the Special Olympics Virginia athletes in making their Olympic dreams come true. We'll use my (Woj's) house as a staging ground for changing, bag storage, and general pre-gaming. Then, we'll walk down the street to take the plunge, toss a ball around, and hand out business cards to any potential new recruits.
