 Open coffee meetup in downtown Toronto Wednesday at 8 AM at Boxcar Social in Waterworks.

I am new in town and looking to start a meetup group to make new friends and meet like minded people.
 Open Coffee was started in Cedar Falls, Iowa and grew to over 500 members. I’m bringing the same concept to Toronto.
 The format is you show up, share what you’re working on or excited about, and we all have a discussion around it and share ideas. Pretty simple but can be very fun and beneficial.

\*These classes are not a language exchange, but instead are meant to be a step in between so that students feel confident maintaining in depth and grammatically correct oral conversations outside of class\* \***Meetup event numbers only tend to show new students registering and do not include returning students attending class.** **Per class, there is an average of 7 students.** The first 2 classes are free and then only cost between $15 and $35 depending on which type of class you want to continue with\* These French, English (For Spanish and French speakers only), and Spanish classes are primarily meant for adults who are travellers, or who are planning to live in a French, English, or Spanish-speaking country. We'll be meeting in the basement of **The Blake House**, which is located near Wellesley and Jarvis, about a 10-minute walk from Wellesley Station or Sherbourne Station. **In respect to the Blake House for hosting us, we humbly request that attendees purchase a meal, dessert, or drink if you are able to do so.** Feel free to bring in a piece of writing up to **2000 words** for reading and critique. Struggling with motivation and focus as you hammer away on your manuscript at home? Want to join a community of writers as we embrace the joys and pains (mostly pains) of writing together? Bring your laptop, pen & paper, old-school typewriter, or futuristic writing gadget, and join an enthusiastic community of science fiction and fantasy writers as we work on our current projects in the same space. The format will be similar to our online writing sprints: 30-minute blocks of focused, quiet writing time (the sprints), interspersed with breaks where we can chat, ask questions, and share our writing experiences.

**Directions to the Room:** To find the room, once in Port Credit Arena at the main entrance, go up the stairs, room is on the left. Room is labelled Credit Room South. **Event Description:** This is an informal improv workshop where we get together to play games and scenes similar to those in Whose Line is it Anyways: https://youtu.be/KF3D2TMUhN8. If you want to boost your acting chops or are just looking for some silly fun, this is the place to be! There are usually 10-20 people. The session starts with introductions, followed by group games then finishes with audience/performance sessions. Max capacity is 35 and spots are held based on how soon you sign up. On Sunday, January 25, at the Paradise Theatre in Toronto, the Toronto Film Society is showing a double feature of two Billy Wilder romantic comedies - two films for one low price! First up is *Sabrina* (1954): Audrey Hepburn lights up the screen in this sparkling Cinderella story with a dash of Parisian flair. When the chauffeur’s daughter returns home transformed from shy girl to elegant sophisticate, she turns the heads - and hearts - of both Larrabee brothers (played by Humphrey Bogart and William Holden). Billy Wilder’s writing and direction brings wit, romance, and razor-sharp dialogue to this timeless classic. Sabrina is pure Hollywood magic, wrapped in Givenchy and glowing with charm. Next up is *Midnight* (1939): Don’t let the title fool you - Midnight is a champagne-soaked screwball delight from start to finish, also co-written by Billy Wilder! Claudette Colbert shines as a down-on-her-luck showgirl who stumbles into high society thanks to a borrowed gown and a well-timed lie. Add a lovestruck taxi driver, a meddling aristocrat (John Barrymore), and a whirl of mistaken identities, and you’ve got a comedy that’s as sharp as it is stylish.
