This is an enjoyable hike with shaded trails and a sandy beach to take our break on. The hike is \~7,3 miles with \~800 feet of elevation gain in Seneca Regional Park. A Starfinder Society Scenario designed for 1st- through 2nd-level characters, playable in 2-3 hours. From their newly founded lodge in the Sloughscar Hills, the Starfinder Society studies the Wreck of the Returned, a massive crashed starship the Starfinders believe was dispatched by the long-lost First Ones. Recent excavations into other First Ones sites uncovered powerful weapons, dangerous technology, and volatile magic—incredibly valuable discoveries capable of causing immense harm should they fall into irresponsible hands. While the Starfinder Society would love to enter the Wreck of the Returned directly, the Wreck’s automated defenses and networked robotic servitors make such an expedition incredibly dangerous. Fortunately, the Starfinders have discovered a nearby site of interest: a sizable piece of wreckage which detached during the crash and landed off-site. Eager for answers, the Starfinders dispatch a team to the crash site to investigate. Unfortunately, Hellknights from the Order of the Eclipse are already inside the wreckage, and their mandate to control, suppress, or destroy dangerous information and technology means they have no intention of sharing anything they uncover. It’s up to the Starfinders to explore the wreckage and gather information, before the Hellknights systematically seize, censor, and destroy everything in their path. A new outpost of the Hall of Heroes has been established in Cormyr at the request of Aurus, the Great Gold Wyrm, protector of these lands. The outpost's purpose: to combat the growing influence of forces bent on chaos and conquest in the Central Heartlands area. Rumor has it the Zhentarim are involved, along with other as yet unidentified antagonists. Recent activities in the area indicate that this is more than a rumor. Journey to these mythical lands and help the Hall of Heroes thwart their efforts, and maybe find an interesting trinket or two along the way! ***At our first session***: After speaking to Xeraxius, the dragonborn Liasson to the new outpost for Aurus the Golden Great Wyrm, the party made their way to the future home of the Hall of Heroes outpost, Delphi Manor. Encountering the ghost of Elra at the edge of the property, they were warned of the horrors they might encounter at the manor, and the strange energy surges occurring in the mansion. Arriving at the eerily quiet manor, the party decided to start on the ground floor, waltzing in through the front door. After a brief discussion, it was decided that they would go from room to room, seeking their target, Marcus Delphi, and the book he stole from his father's library: the *Celestial Codex*. They encountered one of the mysterious surges in a spare bedroom near the tower stairs. Hammy had a great time dancing with his shadow, sadly losing his new companion when he left the room, While clearing out the aberrant horrors on that floor, the party discovered the stairs leading up to the second floor, and the stairs leading to the basement. Join us for winter fun, hiking and ice skating! First time skaters welcome. We will meet next to the Mercury Fountain, which is north of the Ice Rink. From the fountain, we will take the Green Trail to Lake Anne. From there we continue on the Blue Trail and some other paths until we reach Lake Fairfax. We will zigzag through Lake Fairfax Park and we will have a break at Lake Fairfax Park Campground A (excellent facilities). Then we will continue through the Lake Fairfax Park until we make a right turn that will bring us close to the Reston Golf Course. We will hike along the golf course until we hit the W&OD trail at Sallie Mae Drive. Then we will follow the W&OD trail back to Reston, to start part 2 of the fun. The hike is 6 miles with \~400 feet elevation gain. We plan to arrive at the Reston Ice Rink about 11:45am for the ice skating portion of this event, followed by lunch at Makers Union about 1pm.
