TUE Free Hatha Yoga - Tamar Park
\*\*\*please register your session to attend\*\*\* Hi 👋🏼 Yogis I am yoga instructor Sophia. As a new yoga teacher (200 YTT certified), I’m excited to share the practice of stretching and Hatha Yoga with others, guiding you through mindful breath and purposeful movement. We’ll explore foundational poses, gentle alignment, and slow, steady stretches that honor your body's limits while inviting greater flexibility and balance. My intention is to create a supportive space where we practice together, learn from each other, and cultivate calm, focus, and presence both on and off the mat. Whether you’re new to yoga or returning after a pause, we’ll move at a comfortable pace, listen to our bodies, and celebrate small progress as we grow. FitFam is a welcoming community for fitness enthusiasts, including yoga lovers, to connect and make new friends, regardless of background or language.😇😁 The event is free. All you need to do is * Bring your own yoga mat * small towel to assist with stretching * wear comfortable outfit 🩷 We’ll meet at the wood deck by the waterfront of Tamar Park. Please look for the one right after passing the big lawn of Legislative Council Complex. Arrive a few minutes early, so we can greet each other and settle in before we start moving and breathing together. The Perfect Chaos: Going beyond Eye Candies
The Perfect Chaos: Going beyond Eye Candies
"I take complex pictures because the world I experience is complicated and ultimately inexplicable place." **Alex Webb** Hello all. This time as part of an advanced level and challenging theme we would follow celebrated street photographer Alex Webb’s technique while trying with our eye/cameras to explore complex compositions and go beyond eye candies. We would practice against the photography clichés of “Less is More” and “Keep It Simple Stupid” by “Look for More” and “Fill the Frame”, by composing some visually complex photographs which contain more than one element, have more than one point of focus, by pushing the frame to include more and more, but falling short of chaos. “Eye Candy” is a photo that looks cool and clean and has exactly one layer of interest. They look great for about half a second and then there is no reason for your eye to linger any longer. In this outing we would try to take pictures that make the eye to move around and see multiple layers/subjects and action. Have a look at some of the pictures in this event page's album below on the theme. Also do some research on the technique of “Layering” and using “Multiple Subjects” in photography compositions. Here are some useful youtube videos on the subject to get you started: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ei5VVqiSH34](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ei5VVqiSH34) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OE3D3NTl8xI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OE3D3NTl8xI) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAtAyr2w6yE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAtAyr2w6yE) **Meeting Time and Place:** **3pm** at **Sham Shui Po MTR station,** **Exit C2** (street level) We will meet at **Sham Shui Po MTR station Exit C2** (street level) at **3pm** and then walk around in groups of two to three photographers, then re-group at (venue yet to be decided but would be announced before the outing begins) **5pm** onwards for photo sharing over a drink. Please post **YOUR BEST FIVE i**mages only for this outing on the meetup site. For every image you post, please try to comment on at least one other image, no matter if you think you are qualified to comment or not. You can always give some constructive comments with regard to Colour, Tone, Light, Action, Pattern, Balance, Composition, Visual and Emotional appeal of the image/s. This really helps in sharing and learning from each other. **IMPORTANT:** Please sign up only if you are coming, those not showing up 2x in a row would be taken off the group list while active members would be given a preference over long inactive members, the last minute habitual dropouts and no-shows.

It is **not suitable for beginners**. You must be able to maintain a fast group pace, stay together, and be flexible and easygoing—there will be some bumps as we navigate from one location to the next. Again, this is **not for beginners**. Now that we’re clear on that, here’s what to expect: Our **New Year’s Cycling Event** goes from **Tai Wai MTR to Tuen Mun MTR**, following the cycling track network that connects East to West in the New Territories. This paved route opened in September 2020 and offers a mix of smooth paths and sections where we’ll need to stop, use crosswalks, and safely navigate traffic lights. **Route:** Tai Wai → Tai Po → Sheung Shui → Yuen Long → Tuen Mun Distance: About **50 km one way**, with options to complete **100 km**. There are bike drop-off points along the way. If you need to stop between these points, you can hire a taxi or GoGoVan to transport you and your bike (at your own cost). For more info [click](https://www.ntctn.hk/tc/index) here. **Important: It is your responsibility to select a bike that is a "right fit" for you and it is your responsibility to decide if you will be wearing a bike helmet.** **What to bring:** * 2 liters of water (water available for sale along the way) * Snacks to eat along the way (sandwich, fruits, nuts, etc) * Comfortable shoes * Sunglasses * Headgear (cap/hat) * Sunscreen * Bug Spray * In case of Rain: plan accordingly **Toilets:** There are plenty of toilets along the way. **Stores:** There are several cafes and convenience stores along the way. **Meeting Point:** Tai Wai MTR Station - Exit A **Time:** 9:00 am (SHARP) **IMPORTANT:** Out of respect to the members that arrive on time, we will only be able to wait a maximum of 5 minutes. Should you arrive after 9:05 am, I will no longer be answering phone calls or responding to messages as I need to give my time and attention to those that have arrived on time. Injera Night | Ethiopian/Eritrean Friday Dining Series
Injera Night | Ethiopian/Eritrean Friday Dining Series
Injera Night is a social event where people bond over African cuisine and create new memories. Please note, this event will alternate between vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes biweekly. Eating Ethiopian/Eritrean food has always been a social event. It is a shared experience that includes everyone around the table and creates a communal feeling for all those involved. In addition to its flavourful dishes, stews, and spices, the cuisines also feature a strong culture around how food is served and shared with friends and family. Above all, eating injera with your hands and feeling its texture by itself is a lot of fun! In this time where people value meaningful connections, Africa Center Hong Kong will be here to provide you this unique dining experience with friends and family. One where the eating experience goes beyond the food to encompass the community. Be sure to join us for this novel experience! One light dramatic portraits in small spaces
One light dramatic portraits in small spaces
This class is a practical, hands-on introduction to creating strong, dramatic portraits using a single light source. We’ll be working in a small studio environment with one model and one light, focusing on how light placement, distance, and modifier choice completely change mood and shape. This is not a lecture-only class—you’ll see the setup demonstrated and then rotate through shooting time yourself. What we’ll cover • How to shape dramatic light with a single source • Light placement for short light, broad light, and high-contrast looks • Controlling shadow depth and falloff in tight spaces • Using minimal gear to create intentional, cinematic portraits • Directing a model efficiently while lighting stays simple What to expect • Small group (10 photographers max) • One shared lighting setup, adjusted live so you can see cause and effect • Time to shoot the model and ask questions as we go • Emphasis on decision-making, not presets or gimmicks Who this is for • Beginner to early-intermediate photographers • Anyone who feels overwhelmed by multi-light setups • Photographers who want stronger, more intentional portraits What to bring • Any camera (DSLR or mirrorless) • A lens in the 35–85mm range is ideal • Fully charged batteries and memory card Lighting gear and model are provided. You just focus on shooting and learning.

Monuments and Memorials Photo Safari
Monuments and Memorials Photo Safari
• What we'll do Learn how to take great pictures BEFORE you go on that expensive trip! And we will teach you how to use your camera IN THE FIELD, not in a classroom! Join our standard Monuments and Memorials workshop, offered Wednesdays and Saturdays, in which the instructor takes you to some of DC’s most popular attractions: White House, Lafayette Park, the Einstein, Lincoln, Korea, and Vietnam Three Servicemen Memorials, and finally to Union Station, where you learn to make all the moving people DISAPPEAR! Remember, it was Confucius who said: "I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do, and I understand." At Washington Photo Safari, we help you "do " and understand! That is why our motto is "See. Click. Learn." This $71 Safari (a 20% discount from the regular $89 price) begins with a 45-minute travel photography orientation, giving you basic tips in composition, F-stops and shutter speeds, portraiture, and interior photography. While you are taking pictures, you receive hands-on guidance on how to make those images even better! Advanced and smartphone photographers will appreciate the instructor’s extensive knowledge of the best camera angles in DC. This is suggested as a preliminary course before taking special safaris. Open to any photographers at any skill level with any camera, phone, or tablet. Transportation from site to site is provided by the instructor. • What to bring camera and all lenses • Important to know travel, architectural, portrait and street photography techniques

Photo Class: Photographic Composition – Essential Techniques
THIS CLASS IS OFFERED THROUGH CAPITAL PHOTOGRAPHY CENTER **PLEASE REGISTER WITH CAPITAL PHOTOGRAPHY CENTER, NOT MEETUP!** https://capitalphotographycenter.com/classes/class/2026-02-01-photographic-composition-essential-techniques The composition of a photograph is the single most important element a photographer uses to convey an artistic statement. What’s included, excluded and the arrangement of elements within the frame is all part of composition. This class will teach you techniques to improve the composition of your photos with hands-on shooting experience coupled with feedback. Join instructor Michael Koren as you learn about composition in the Postal Museum and Union Station. The class begins with a lesson and viewing examples of compositional techniques from master photographers to help you when composing your own photographs. We'll then go to specific locations to practice those composition techniques. Afterwards, participants will have free time to photograph all the museum has to offer. We’ll follow up with a gentle critique and feedback of your best work of the day. This class is about "seeing" stronger images. Any camera will do from DSLRs to mobile phones. If you *are*bringing a DSLR or mirrorless camera, lenses in the range of 18-135 would work well. No tripods allowed for this class. Questions can be directed to Marie Joabar at info@capitalphotographycenter.com.
