Run+B-fast
Run+B-fast
Hi Running fellows, Whether you’re a walker, new to running, a semi-pro, a marathonist or a sprint star - if you want to start your weekend in an active way and enjoy the outdoors in lovely surroundings with a fun, international and multilingual group of people, you are welcome to join us! Every Saturday at 9:30 am, we meet, we run, in the magnificent Schönbrunn park, and then we go for breakfast. Want to discuss politics or the best recipes for banana pancakes? Not a problem. Not feeling social? Tune out with your earbuds - we can talk over breakfast. We are casual. You can be too. What to expect: Start by meeting Adrian, Ali, Liz, Paul and Sonia on-time at 9:30am outside the Schönbrunn U-Bahn stop (exit Grünbergstraße). (Coordinates: 48.1858130, 16.3200640) From there, we walk to the side park entrance where the “running” part begins. The important thing is that you run at your own pace. Typically, small groups of people will run at the same pace as you, so you never have to walk/run alone :) We finish one hour later, at about 10:40am, reconvening just inside the Hietzinger Tor exit. (Coordinates: 48.1858825, 16.3032647). From there, we’re off to breakfast! Breakfast Details: Anker bakery opposite the U4 Hietzing station and depending on the weather, grab something for a picnic in Schönbrunn park, or hang out in the bakery. If you missed us earlier, you can always go there around 10:45. We are a fun group of runners who don’t take things too seriously. We meet, chat, RUN, stretch, chat, EAT and we hang out over a beer every now and then. It's that easy. Please join us for breakfast after the run! The more the merrier. Typically we are 10-30 people, as not everyone who comes signs up on meetup. Important disclaimer: Please only run as much as you feel you can, considering the temperature, weather conditions, your own fitness etc... run and walk at your own pace as the organizers do not assume any liability for any injuries or health issues. Sonia, Adrian, Ali, Paul and Liz
The Science of (Self-)Love – Cultivating Compassion for Yourself and Others
The Science of (Self-)Love – Cultivating Compassion for Yourself and Others
Love and compassion – for yourself and for others. Beyond romance, love is the foundation of how we relate – to friends, family, and our own inner voice. Many of us show care for others but struggle to extend the same kindness toward ourselves. This workshop combines gentle yoga, breathing, and neuroscience, introspection, pair- and group activities to explore how compassion transforms our inner dialogue and relationships. It also explores the science of love and compassion, guiding participants through practices that nurture self-acceptance, empathy, and deeper, healthier connections within the community. Please sign up here: https://forms.gle/n1Hyz93tZTq4czfc7 You’ll explore: The basics of (neuro)science behind love and compassion. How to apply non-violent communication with ourselves – replacing judgment with acceptance. How to practice gentle conscious movement and breathwork for emotional balance and self-care. Mantras like “I suffer, please help” and “I know you suffer, I’m here for you” to foster mutual care and love (including journalling). Join us to nurture self-love and build bridges of kindness in the community. Please bring paper and a pen. Cash donation is appreciated. Pause. Sense. Breathe. Return to yourself. In a world of speed, multitasking, and constant stimulation, true presence becomes a rare and powerful skill. This interactive workshop offers a space to slow down, reconnect with your body, and understand how mindfulness and meditation transforms your brain, your communication, and your moment-to-moment experience. Through a blend of neuroscience, mindfulness tools, introspection, pair- and group activities, we explore how the brain, body, and nervous system shape the way we feel, interact, and respond. You’ll learn how posture, breath, emotional signals, and internal narratives influence communication – and how mindful presence can shift everything. You’ll explore: The neuroscience of mindfulness, meditation and self-awareness. How feelings, needs, and body sensations shape your relationships. How to meet difficult emotions with curiosity and compassion. How to practice RAIN as a gentle, structured process. How Metta meditation softens the heart and supports resilience. How body language influences communication and nervous system safety. How breath and movements bring you back into the present moment. Ideal for anyone wanting to live and communicate with more clarity, intention, and authenticity – in body, mind, and heart. Please bring paper and a pen. Cash donation is appreciated. The Mindful BAse x Villa Vida Where science meets mindfulness – for awareness, connection, and community. At The Mindful BAse, we believe that mindfulness is not only a personal practice, but also a powerful way to strengthen relationships, communities, and our connection with our environment. Founded in Vienna in 2025, our mission is simple: to bring people together, foster well-being, and cultivate a community rooted in awareness, kindness, compassion and respect. Through our collaboration with Villa Vida, we are excited to present a series of science-based mindfulness workshops designed to encourage meaningful dialogue, nurture learning and reflection for supporting the local queer community. We create spaces where ancient practices meet modern insights, offering sessions that combine yoga, meditation, neuroscience, communication tools in a safe, inclusive and inspiring space. Each workshop invites you to slow down, connect, and learn practical ways to care for yourself and others – grounded in both science and lived experience. 🌈 All identities, bodies, and levels of experience are welcome.

PCE - Philosophic Conversation in English
PCE - Philosophic Conversation in English
PCE - "Philosophic Conversation in English" is a discussion event in English language which focuses on psychology, philosophy, self-consciousness and self-realization. The conversation is based on inclusive discussion rules. We will meet at at a restaurant where we will have a private room exclusively reserved for our event. At the beginning we will choose the topic to discuss. Everybody can suggest a topic. Then we will vote what to discuss. The person who suggested the winning topic will then explain his idea of the topic. Afterwards everybody gets his/her chance to make a statement. But you can also decide to remain silent and only listen, if you prefer that. We have a time limit for statements, so that everybody has enough time to speak. It is not allowed to interrupt somebody who is speaking. After a statement everybody can ask a question and the speaker will answer. After the first part there will be a 10 minutes break before we start the second part. Everybody is welcome to our event: We are interested in your thoughts and opinions! It is no problem if you arrive late and you can also leave whenever you want. Please check out last event's topics via this link: [http://pce-topic.project-website.org](http://pce-topic.project-website.org/)

ADVANCED badminton players wanted!
ADVANCED badminton players wanted!
Thank you for visiting this event page! * Are you an advanced badminton player? If yes - WELCOME! * The earlier you sign up, the bigger your chance to reserve a place - once 9 other players have signed up already, you move to the waiting list. * Once the waiting list has 3 or more members, I will try to book an additional court, but no guarantees. I need to close the registration 24h before the event as I will then have to decide whether to cancel any court due to a shortage of players. You can still contact me if you want to play though. The fee per player will be €10.00 for 2 hours as the cost of both shuttles and court bookings have increased. But this should now cover also shuttles used during play. Please be on time as a curtesy to the other players. In addition, if you are on the players' list and don't come (i.e. no show), you will be automatically excluded from this group.

About Minneapolis - Fairfax Braver Angels Monthly Meeting
About Minneapolis - Fairfax Braver Angels Monthly Meeting
**Braver Angels holds workshops, debates, and public presentations designed to bridge the political divide we are experiencing in our country.** Our events help conservatives, liberals, and independents get past stereotypes and have civil conversations about current issues, helping open the way to productive problem-solving, mutual respect and understanding. We have an exciting discussion planned for February and we hope you will join us. It’s been only a month in 2026 and it seems that everyday there is some news or the other that sparks more controversy and creates more polarization than ever before. **A Case in Point:** In Minnesota, current events—specifically Operation Metro Surge, a large-scale federal immigration enforcement operation—have sparked a significant constitutional crisis involving the Second Amendment, the rule of law, and freedom of speech. **1\. Second Amendment \(Right to Bear Arms\)** The fatal shootings of Renee Good, a mother of two, and Alex Pretti, a nurse and concealed-carry permit holder, by federal agents in January 2026, has put the role of ICE, Freedom of Speech and Assembly, the Rule of Law and the Second Amendment at the center of the conflict. * **The Conflict:** Administration officials, including FBI Director Kash Patel, argued that carrying a firearm with multiple magazines to a protest implies violent intent and is not a protected right. * **The Backlash:** Gun rights groups like the [National Association for Gun Rights](https://braverangels.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=eb070968609f8aecc37a46472&id=54af438f89&e=500efeae3d) and the [Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus](https://braverangels.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=eb070968609f8aecc37a46472&id=9b87a21916&e=500efeae3d) have condemned these statements, noting that Minnesota law explicitly allows permit holders to carry at protests. They argue that exercising one right (First Amendment protest) does not negate another (Second Amendment self-defense). **2\. Freedom of Speech and Assembly** The [ACLU of Minnesota](https://braverangels.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=eb070968609f8aecc37a46472&id=d306a09b8d&e=500efeae3d) and other advocates allege that federal agents are systematically suppressing dissent through force and targeted arrests. * **Renee Good:** The January 2026 killing of Renee Good by an [ICE agent](https://braverangels.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=eb070968609f8aecc37a46472&id=ddc5885c7c&e=500efeae3d) in Minneapolis raises critical constitutional issues regarding the Fourth Amendment’s prohibition on excessive force and unreasonable seizure. It tests the limits of federal officer immunity, specifically challenging claims of "[absolute immunity](https://braverangels.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=eb070968609f8aecc37a46472&id=55da441d59&e=500efeae3d)" under the [Supremacy Clause](https://braverangels.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=eb070968609f8aecc37a46472&id=90f0fb9009&e=500efeae3d). The case also spotlights the lack of legal mechanisms for holding federal agents accountable for violating civil rights. * **Journalist Arrests:** On January 30, 2026, journalists Don Lemon and Georgia Fort were arrested on federal charges related to their coverage of an anti-ICE protest at a church. * **A Chilling Effect?** Organizations like [FIRE](https://braverangels.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=eb070968609f8aecc37a46472&id=db63d21e6b&e=500efeae3d) argue that federal investigations and grand jury subpoenas of state officials (including Governor Tim Walz) are intended to "chill" speech and discourage citizens from observing or filming law enforcement. **3\. The Rule of Law** The "rule of law" is currently being tested through a jurisdictional battle between state and federal authorities. * **Federalism and the 10th Amendment:** Minnesota's Attorney General and a coalition of cities have [filed a lawsuit](https://braverangels.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=eb070968609f8aecc37a46472&id=dd3fa783e5&e=500efeae3d) alleging that the federal government is "commandeering" local resources and violating the 10th Amendment by bypassing state authority. * **Accountability:** Groups such as the [Society for the Rule of Law](https://braverangels.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=eb070968609f8aecc37a46472&id=176c834bfb&e=500efeae3d) have criticized the administration for "dismissing core constitutional rights" and failing to provide evidence for claims that protesters are engaging in "riots" to justify the use of force. **Some Crises Make Strange Bedfellows:** The situation in Minnesota has become a notable **crossover issue**, creating an unusual alliance between progressives, libertarians, and mainstream conservatives who are increasingly uncomfortable with the federal government's tactics. Traditionally, gun rights are a conservative priority, but the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti by federal agents has caused a rift. Groups like the Gun Owners of America and the National Association for Gun Rights joined progressives in criticizing the administration, arguing that a lawful gun owner should not be criminalized for exercising their rights during a protest. Republican governors have joined Democratic counterparts to urge federal accountability, arguing that the operation is a test case for federal "retribution" that could eventually target any state. Both sides have condemned the use of warrantless raids, the arrest of journalists, and the prevention of state investigators from accessing federal crime scenes. Libertarians and progressive legal advocates (like those at the [Public Rights Project](https://braverangels.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=eb070968609f8aecc37a46472&id=6e3eaeaafb&e=500efeae3d)) are unified in the belief that the federal government is "unconstitutionally coercing" local law enforcement and schools to serve a federal immigration agenda. Meanwhile, Republican-leaning pollster [Cygnal](https://braverangels.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=eb070968609f8aecc37a46472&id=e05c097435&e=500efeae3d) reports that deportation and ICE are overwhelmingly supported by voters. So, where do we go from here? While we, as individuals, can exercise our freedom of speech and participate in protests to advocate change, real change will require action from Congress. And we can do our part in telling Congress exactly what we think! **What We Hope to Accomplish this Evening:** After some brief introductions, we will breakout into groups (how many will depend on the number of attendees) to discuss this issue. The groups will be chosen randomly *(as this is a crossover issue)* and will report back to answer this question: ***What would you convey to your Member of Congress about Minneapolis?*** **Time:** * Introductions - 10 minutes * Discussions - 60 minutes * Report Back - 30 minutes * Closeout and Next Steps - 10 minutes **Where and When:** ***Date:*** Tuesday February 10, 2026 ***Time:*** 7:00pm (doors open at 6:30 – snacks and mingling) ***Venue:*** McLean Governmental Center [1437 Balls Hill Road, McLean, VA 22101](https://braverangels.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=eb070968609f8aecc37a46472&id=f600773430&e=500efeae3d) For questions, message Jennifer Ibarra or email fairfax-va@braverangels.org. Systemic Constellation Workshop with Randy Goldberg
Systemic Constellation Workshop with Randy Goldberg
**A systemic constellation (also called Family Constellations) is a therapeutic group experience designed to uncover and resolve hidden family dynamics that may be influencing a person’s life.** Rooted in the work of Bert Hellinger, this method operates on the principle that unresolved traumas and patterns from previous generations can manifest in an individual’s relationships, health, or emotions. During the workshop, a facilitator guides participants as they explore these systemic entanglements using representatives—other group members who stand in for family members or key components of their issue. Through this process, participants gain deep insights into their energy field systems, fostering healing and a sense of resolution. These workshops provide a safe and supportive environment for self-discovery and transformation. Participants often experience profound emotional shifts as they witness and engage in the unfolding dynamics of their lives stories. By bringing unconscious loyalties, unresolved grief, or burdens to light, Family Constellation work helps individuals break free from limiting patterns, fostering greater harmony, self-acceptance, and a renewed sense of belonging. Whether attending as an active participant or as a representative, individuals often leave with a deeper understanding of their own lives and relationships. **Must register online FEE: $65** **Learn more and register** [here!](https://www.tealcenter.com/classes-and-events/)

Deal or Disaster: The 5-Minute Investment Evaluation System
Deal or Disaster: The 5-Minute Investment Evaluation System
This training is designed for real estate agents who want to learn how to play the Agent Investor game. The goal of this training is to help you flip your income into ownership. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ **Investors move fast. Most agents don’t.** If you can’t evaluate a deal quickly and confidently, you lose credibility—and the opportunity disappears. Deal or Disaster teaches a simple, repeatable framework to determine in minutes whether a deal prints money or burns it. In this session, you’ll learn a 5-minute investment evaluation system that works across flips, rentals, BRRRRs, wholetails, and creative deals. The goal isn’t perfection—it’s speed, clarity, and credibility. We’ll break down: * How to identify the investor’s true goal before running numbers * A fast, reliable method to estimate ARV with confidence * How to calculate the real all-in acquisition cost * Simple heuristics to ballpark rehab and improvement costs * The key metrics that reveal whether a deal works—or should be killed You’ll also learn the most common red flags that signal bad deals, thin margins, and hidden risk, so you know when to pause or walk away. When you can analyze deals in minutes, you earn authority, build trust, and become indispensable to investors. Speed creates opportunity—and opportunity creates repeat business. If you want to move from real estate generalist to trusted investment strategist, this session gives you the framework to do it. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ **Did you miss it?** [Watch all GRID Reston event playback on YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLOTh5kxLLJI1G3VH6Pqhlhu0uTA8yrdpi) ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ **Join the GRID Facebook Community** [Join the online GRID community here](https://www.facebook.com/groups/gridinvestor) to post deals, ask questions, and connect with other investors across the globe.
