Christian Speed Dating | Ages 30 to 45
BOOK YOUR TICKET đđź [HERE](https://itsadate.club/event/christian-speed-dating-3/).
Single, Christian, and 30â45? Perfect! Join us for 15 fun, fast-paced dates with like-minded Christians looking for genuine connections.
Located on Gresham Street, just a 3-minute walk from Bank Station, The Anthologist is a contemporary bar featuring a cosy private seating areaâperfect for meeting new people who share your Christian faith. Enjoy a warm welcome from our personable host, a comfortable and relaxed setting, and introductions to 30 other single guestsâall looking to form meaningful connections in a fun and natural way.
Our host will be at the venue ready to welcome you at 19:30. Please arrive on time for registration, to grab any drinks from the bar, and receive a summary of how things will work. You will be given an optional name sticker, a pen, and note card to keep track of everyone youâve met.
Ladies will be seated on tables adequately spaced, discreetly numbered, and arranged in a comfortable area of the venue. When speed dating commences, gents will join ladies for 5-minute dates to get to know one another. Your host will notify all guests at the end of each date, signalling for gents to move to the next table in ascending numerical order.
During table rotations you will have a moment to record on note cards your feelings towards the previous date and intention to reconnect, for your reference only.
Mid-way through the evening, your host will indicate a 15-minute comfort break to use the rest room, head to the bar, or socialise with new connections. Dating will then resume for the second half of the evening.
At the end of the speed dating the bar will remain open for more socialising. You can then access the event listing in your dashboard to enter feedback on dates and await your matches.
If you have any questions on the event or how things will work, please get in contact with James on 07517 065 492 or [james@itsadate.club](mailto:james@itsadate.club).

đExplore The Night Sky + Post Pub Drinksđ(Subject to Weather)đŞ
đEver look up and marvel with insatiable curiosity at both the beauty and wonder of the **universe?** That wild sobering thought that somewhere in the chaos of creation - the emergence of life - the universe became **conscious** enough to look back and ask the fundamental questions; How it all started, our evolution and place in it, and where else in the cosmos other complex life might exist (we know almost every star you see has planets orbiting with up to **20 billion habitable exoplanets** easily in our galaxy alone!)? đŞđđđ
đThen RSVP to view the potential life harbouring moons of **Jupiter**, comets, the famous **Orion Nebula** where stars like our sun were born, the majestic rings of **Saturn**, the international space station, well known star fields, remnants of **supernova** witnessed by our early ancestors, multi-star solar systems (think the double sun in Starwars), the Tau Ceti star with **2 Earth like planets** orbiting in the habitable zone, plus a range of other fascinating celestial wonderments (comets, galaxies) over drinks and engaging chats and banter this Jan fully hosted by a passionate amateur astronomer and former global Journalist covering big picture stories including cutting edge science related ones.
đIn between observing - we'll have **drinks and engaging chats** on all astronomy related topics for those inclined - space exploration, Fermi Paradox, Astrobiology, Cosmology, paleontology, SETI/Drake Equation (I have my own augmented version giving more realistic estimates of likely alien civilisations!), exoplanetology etc as well as non space chatter and banter too. No doubt we'll hear the usual jokes we've all heard before! If those don't make you laugh, my impersonation of Los Angeles ET will! đ˝
And to help set the mood and make the night feel even extra galactic, Iâll put my DJ hat to play some spaceâthemed tunes and songs about the stars!
**======= Joining Astronomers Group & Telescopes =======**
I'm able to take a limited number of people (please only RSVP if you can make it) to join my friendly informal relaxed London amateur astronomers' club that have been for over a decade with their regulars made up of up to about 150 people. As there will be people attending from this private Astronomers group as well as others from one of my other groups - the total attendees will be far higher than rsvps here and the public liability insurance only covers a max number of people - hence I need to impose strict limits on attendance.
Over the years we have enjoyed numerous social evenings of stargazing and thought provoking chatter with people of all ages and varying levels of astronomy knowledge - so complete beginners that are genuinely curious about the universe are very welcome. If you are just looking to meet generic randoms then there are others groups that will better cater for that. The world renowed **BBC Television Sky at Night** also attended our events pre covid and interviewed some of us for it's show that aired on BBC1 in Feb 2019. BBC **Radio London** (94.9 FM / digital) were there Aug 2023 to cover our meteor shower event broadcasting live to millions of Londoners for 3 hours
You don't need a telescope as you will be able to view through scopes belonging to me and other club members (as long as you behave responsibly and don't temper with expensive equipment). If you have your own telescope/binoculars feel free to bring along and I can help you setting it up if you're a newbie
**==== Food & Drinks With Seating From Warm Indoor Cafe ====**
Alcoholic beverages (wine, beer, cider only), hot drinks and food/snacks will be available to purchase from an indoor cafe at the observation point which Regent's park keep open exclusively for the astronomers group so please don't bring your own drinks
**==== ITINERARY =====**
We will meet outside Camden Station. After a short wait for anyone delayed, I will escort everyone to our observation point in the local park 15 minutes walk away and brief you in terms of what to expect, observing etiquette, tips, equipment handling and take any questions you have - weather general or astronomy/cosmology related.
**After Drinks:** Unless I have a very important 9AM Thursday deadline for a client presentation or something that I'm still gonna be writing 2 mins before start - most of us usually head our way back to Camden for another drink. If so - I will annouce the pub when we leave the park
**==== What Can You Expect To See (this time of year)? ====**
* Orion Nebula
* Jupiter and 4 moons
* Meteors
* Andromedia Galaxy
* Saturn, rings & moon
* Star clusters such as the Pleiades & Owl Cluster etc
* International Space station fly by
* Venus & Mercury
* Binary & tripple star systems (think planet *Tatooine in* Starwars!),

Veganuary VSDC Movie Watch Party, Discussion, and Vegan Food
Join the [Veg Society of DC (VSDC)](vsdc.org) for Veganuary's pro-animal/vegan-themed Movie Watch Party on Saturday, January 31 at 3:00 pm in Fairfax VA. Socializing with vegan food beforehand and discussion about the movie afterwards is planned. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION FOR DETAILS OF HOW THIS MONTH'S MOVIE WATCH PARTY WILL BE DIFFERENT, INCLUDING A 3 PM START TIME.
This month's movie is Wicked Part 1. (The next Movie Watch Party will screen Wicked Part II, which should be available on streaming by then). *Wicked* has a strong animal rights theme, portraying Elphaba's fight against the oppression and silencing of talking animals in Oz, mirroring real-world animal exploitation and systemic injustice. The movie is 2 hours and 40 minutes long.
*About Veganuary: "Our vision is simple; we want a vegan world. A world without animal farms and slaughterhouses. A world where food production does not decimate forests, pollute rivers and oceans, exacerbate climate change, and drive wild animal populations to extinction." Veganuary has inspired and supported millions of people to try vegan since 2014 â with participants from almost every country in the world. They have worked with businesses to drive up vegan options in shops and restaurants, and have made veganism more visible and accessible through their work with national and international media.*
The VSDC member hostsâ home in Fairfax has a small home theater that can accommodate around 20 people. This regular event is a fun way to learn, discuss, and meet vegans and vegan-curious people (Thanks to Mindy Kursban and David Kwiatkowski for hosting!).
FEE: The $10 fee will cover the hosts' expenses for the event, including food, beverages, and other associated costs. If there are any proceeds beyond these costs, which we don't expect, they will go towards VSDC's work to fulfill its mission. In order to ensure the success of the evening and limit late cancellations, **the fee is refundable until 5 days before the event.**
BECAUSE THERE IS A FEE FOR THIS EVENT, MEETUP DOES NOT ALLOW FOR A WAITLIST ONCE THE RSVPs ARE FULL. IF IT IS FULL, IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU CHECK MEETUP OCCASIONALLY TO SEE IF ANYONE HAS CHANGED THEIR RSVP.
FOOD: For our afternoon movie watch party, weâll have mostly snack-style foods. And to kick off the year on a healthy note, this monthâs spread will be mostlyâthough not entirelyâraw. Feel free to bring any vegan food or beverages to share; your contribution doesnât need to be raw.
WHO: All VSDC and Meetup members are invited. Bringing a non-vegan friend is encouraged.
WHEN: Saturday, January 31 **at 3:00 pm**\*\*\*. Because of the length of the movie, we will start the movie at 3:00 pm and watch the first 1 1/2 hours. Then we will have a short break for food and socializing and watch the remainder of the movie.
WHERE: The home is in Fairfax VA 22033, near Inova Fair Oaks Hospital. It is 8 miles from the closest metro at either Vienna or Reston (Uber or Lyft would be necessary). **For safety and security reasons, the exact location will be emailed privately via Meetup about 2 days in advance to those who have rsvp'd Yes.** Please make sure your email is current in Meetup, your Meetup settings allow organizer messages, and check your spam if you don't receive the message.
PARKING: There is plenty of free parking within a 3-minute walk of the home.
\*You must register via this page to attend the event.\* A Pay Pal account is required to pay the $10. Because there is a cost for the event, Meetup doesn't have a waitlist for the movie.

Discussion Group - New Year, New Intentions
Let's get together in a warm and open atmosphere to talk about ethical non-monogamy and how we actually do it. Ask for advice, give some in return, meet and mingle with your peers. Let's kick back and get to know each other and learn a few things.
TOPIC: What would you like to do differently in your relationships going forward this year? What did you do last year that really didn't work? What's your stretch goal?
The location of our group will rotate between VA and MD. This week, we'll be in VA back at home with our most frequent host. As usual we'll send out the details on the morning of the event.
FOOD: bring food that supports the diet you are undoubtedly on this month.
Please consider bringing a vegetarian or vegan option; we do currently have active members who need these options. Cut-up fresh fruit is always great! If you don't feel like schlepping, we also always appreciate a donation.
Please note: we share the address on the morning of the meeting, via the messaging/email system here. If you donât have the details by Friday noon, you will need to message us directly to get them.

Rosie's Farm Sanctuary Volunteer Day
Join us for a volunteer day helping the animals at Rosie's Farm Sanctuary in Potomac, MD.
Before attending this event, you must sign a liability waiver. Please use this link https://waiver.smartwaiver.com/w/b5nky2tonaovjqgjn6ap5p/web/
The chores you will be doing are physical. You will be working on big projects that require many volunteers like removing old bedding, sanitizing stals and replacing with new bedding, along with the daily clean up chores. Wear boots and clothing you donât mind getting dirty.
Feel free to bring a filled water bottle. On sunny days a brimmed hat and sunglasses may be helpful. Sunscreen is also suggested.
Please do not bring any food or yummy-smelling items on your body or in your bag as our animals love to eat and are on special diets.
Out of respect for the animals, we do not allow any food with animal products to be consumed at Rosieâs Farm Sanctuary. Please ensure that all edible items are plant-based (no dairy, no cheese, no cowâs milk ice cream, no meat, no fish, no eggs). Thank you for your cooperation and respect for this. It is very important to us.
There is a gift shop where you can browse and warm up during the event.
Please post your pictures and tag Rosieâs Farm Sanctuary and Rockville Vegans!
We are limited to 30 volunteers, so please change your RSVP if you cannot attend.
If there is interest, we may go out to eat in one of our local vegan restaurants afterward.
