I really need to ride Umstead more. Thanks Steve P for offering an alternative hardcore Umstead route for those who wanted it! :-)

Great ride & company!... As usual!

Yes, Steve...singletrack trails are indeed closed. This ride has been changed to the bridle trails of Umstead.

      Sorry catch yall next week!

I am sorry I thought the trails were closed due to the weather

I'm in if the rain holds off.

Due to the continuing rain, I've changed the Meeting place to ORC & BlackCreek Greenway intersection (the back side of Crabtree). We can do a clockwise or counterclockwise loop of Umstead. Mamoon, if you're riding in the rain, I'll have you take over the group. Thanks!

Awesome. Thanks, Mamoon! I'll be there at 6:30.

You're welcome :) Great, I'll see you then.

Just an fyi for those going to RP after the ride...it looks like another Meetup group is going to see the band "Noize"...it might be quite ugly (and noisy) in there!

If the Crabtree trails are still closed, we can ride at Little River if it's still open. The catch is that we have start the ride no later than 6 pm. They lock the gates at 8.

    July 12, 2013

    • Gene C.

They closed Little River, so it's Crabtree or bust.

      July 12, 2013

    • Debbie

I'm not surprised. Crabtree won't happen either. You mean "Umstead or bust"

      July 12, 2013

  • Mamoon H.

A quick note: I'm all for riding Umstead if Crabtree is closed and being there to help with the group if needed :) Let us know Debbie :) Take care.

Crabtree is currently closed. They've been pretty dry despite all the rain, so I suppose anything can happen by 6:30.
Since there has been a high interest in riding Umstead if the trails are closed, I won't cancel. I won't even cancel if it's raining...but I won't be there. I do love riding in the rain, but have other functions that I need to attend tonight.

I will update meeting place after lunch, depending on the probability of the trails opening. ps. If there is lightening or high winds, a rain ride will be cancelled. No need for anyone to die.

Pouring here now. Not a fan of driving to Raleigh to ride around Umstead.

    July 12, 2013

  • Mamoon H.

So, judging from the heavy rain that's going on right now, the trail might be closed. If so, would we ride Umstead instead? I don't mind either trail, I just want to ride :)

    July 11, 2013

  • Mamoon H.

Can't wait :) Great ride with great people :)

Kind of a maybe...I have a 5pm appointment in downtown Raleigh...will have my bike with me and head directly to the trails.
