THIS IS ABOUT THE FUTURE OF ALL IN OUR AREA...NOT JUST BIKERS, BUT ANY OUTDOOR ENTHUSIAST OR ANYONE CONCERNED ABOUT AIR/WATER QUALITY, GREENSPACE, AND QUALITY OF LIVING
Given the recent vote by the RDUAA to lease land adjacent to Umstead State Park to Wake Stone Corporation for a second quarry pit, we need to continue to speak up. At the commissioner meetings, you can speak if you sign up immediately before the meeting. Public comments start 30 minutes after the meeting begines. The commissioners meet on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month. The first meeting is at 5pm and the second is at 2pm. It just so happens that this next meeting is during work hours. But, given the recent suprise vote by RDUAA and the fact that Wake Stone is already starting to prep the land for logging, please come make your voices heard. There are many working behind the scenes, but we do need the public to continue to speak out.
