Let's take advantage of the Saturday availability at New Light! We will be riding the main New Light loop while taking time to session features and sections to progress our riding skills and limits! If you are looking to up your game and get encouragement and advice from other experienced riders, this is your jam!

Time: 7:45am
Type of ride: Intermediate to Advanced
Speed: 6-8 mph
Distance: 8-9miles
Time spent riding: 1.5 - 2 hours

Meet at the end of the entrance road by the metal gate. Park in any of the spots along the side of the entrance road.

Difficulty: New light provides some of the techiest riding in the Triangle with sections full of rocks, water bar drops, and roots. Almost all features provide a ride around so everyone can ride within their limits.

Details: We will not be pushing the pace but come ready to try a new feature or practice some skills with the group! The focus of these rides will be to learn from each other and progress our skills on one of the rowdiest trails around! This should NOT be your first time mountain biking and you should have experience riding trails which are faster and more difficult than entry level trails such as Lake Crabtree, Harris Lake, or Forest Ridge.

You must wear a helmet while riding on the trails. Make sure you have plenty of water. For additional items to bring with you while mountain biking, please visit this link:

Being part of TORC Meetup isn't quite the same as being a TORC member. Join TORC for as little as $39 at fee helps to finance trail building and maintenance, and rewards you with discounts on TORC races and at many of the local bike shops. Membership means leverage, so please join us in representing our dirt-loving interests in the triangle.
