Hi Friends - Let's have some 2019 West Side Wednesdays!

We are halfway through the work week! Let's celebrate with a fun, "begintermediate" ride at Carolina North Forest.

Meet time: 6:00pm
Ride starts at: 6:10ishpm
Ride length: 1.5 - 2 hours

Typical ride distance - Beginner: 6 - 8 miles
Typical ride speed - Beginner: 5 - 6 mph

Typical ride distance - Intermediate: 8 - 12 miles
Typical ride speed - Intermediate: 7 - 8 mph

Location: Carolina North Forest
Where to meet: The Municipal Rd gravel parking lot. Google the intersection of Martin Luther King Rd & Municipal Rd in Chapel Hill and follow the gravel rd to the parking lot.

Bathrooms: There is a porta-potty at the parking lot.

Water: There is no water source on-site.

* Please no first-time beginners. Around six months of general mountain biking experience is recommended. Please come confident with your bike.

* This is a no-drop social ride which will have multiple safety and social breaks. On-trail mechanical situations will be assessed by the group leader.

What to bring:
MOUNTAIN BIKES ONLY in good working order.
Please no hybrids, cruisers, cyclocross, gravel, or bike-pack touring bikes.

Helmet - required
Hydration (pack or water bottle)
Cell Phone
Snacks if you get hungry on the trail
Good idea to bring first aid kit, tools, spare tube, gloves

It is common that we split into two groups - a beginner group, and an intermediate group.

If you have ridden Crabtree and Brumley and are ready to try some more challenging terrain, this ride is perfect for you!

Trail Information:
NOTE: When CNF trails are closed, ride is cancelled. If there is a threat of impending thunderstorms - the ride will be cancelled same day.
