TORC Night Ride @ RTP Trails (all skills)

TORC RTP Trails all skills night ride

Directions and trail info:
http://www.torc-nc.org/trails/rtp-trails/

Time: Arrive by ~5:15. Ride from 5:30-whenever

Type of ride: All skills, no drop ride; we can split into groups per experience level as necessary.

Speed: ~6-10 mph
Distance: between ~9-18 miles depending on group and ability.
Time spent riding: ~2 hours
Difficulty: RTP Trails are listed on TMTB as intermediate, but perhaps comparable to Crabtree with fewer roots. This is a fun flowy up and down trail that loops back on itself often so the ride options are endless. There are a few fun technical spots and a very nice bridge.

*Remember, please have a minimum of 200 lumen (light) and some hydration. If you need lights check these guys out http://www.lumintrek.com/

*You must wear a helmet.
*Feel free to print out your own TORC waiver and don't forget to sign in on the clipboard.

Hey Northerner, thanks for posting a night ride at these trails. Hopefully I'll join you on a future ride. I'm wondering if you plan on doing different nights/times. See you at 6BC. :-)

Yes Debbie. Anytime I think I'll be working in that area of the Triangle I'll post up a ride at least a couple days ahead of time. I'm open to different times also. Was a good ride tonight with some new faces. See you soon!

Trails are right by Triangle Wine, where we held our TORC meeting last April. Nice beer selection on tap. I'd be up for stopping there after.

    A beer and some afterward?

How do you guys get there so early? Don't you have jobs that hold you till 5? :-(

Depends on the day, sometimes well past 5 :( The good thing about RTP trails (and these rides in general) is that we can loop back to the parking lot every loop or two and catch anyone that wants to join. Let us know what time you'll be there and we'll be sure to snag you!

I rode this trail today during lunch. A bit short but a lot of fun. Looking forward to riding it at night.

Give it a few more months and there will be 5 miles out there. ;)

That'll be nice. I didn't realize that some of what is labeled as Phase 2 on the map from TORC's site is finished. I used Strava to record the ride and showed it to a co-worker who is familiar with the trails. He said we missed the new section so it looks like it already is longer than I thought.
