Did you use cross processing for this! Hope you got a release. It's a beautiful shot. Love the colour and the expression!

I just add a little bit of saturation. No release - do I need one for the shot taken in a public place? I am not selling this and in my understanding, I don't need a release. Release only needed if I am using this image commercially. Isn't it? Thanks for the comments!

Yes, you are correct about the release. I was just thinking it's such a charming shot it would make a good stock shot. I just loving looking at it.

why does the photo have too much orange color ?

  • Igor V.

It is not. Did you try to calibrate your monitor? :)

I don't have calibration tool for photoshop. I just use Nvidia control panel. all settings are on default. Saturation is at 50% , hues at +1. I still see the kid hair as orange. The T-shirt look bright orange in sun light.

I like the photo just as it is. I don't think it's too much orange, probably just the warm sun. It's beautiful!

You should buy the tool and calibrate your monitor if you serious about photography. Read here: http://www.wikihow.com/Calibrate-Your-Monitor And, yes, shirt and hair are bright orange - and it is secondary subject of this image (color)!

Look at my other image with bright green of ship's rear end. What is the subject of this photograph? It is a mix of colors and shapes - definitely not the man on the boat.

You're a fantastic photogrpaher. I love your work. I'm not sure who it was who suggested you need to calibrate but it wasn't me. I was only complimenting your photos.

Linda - thank you so much for your high scores! And it was me who suggested to calibrate the monitor :) Mine is always calibrated.

Mines callibrated too! Seems we have a 3rd person in on this conversation and I've gotten confused.
