What we’re about
The purpose of this group is to produce vegetables, fruits, and flowers for our community and for the charity Food Cloud. We started this group because of an important need during the pandemic. Food cloud reported difficulty sourcing good quality fresh foods for the charities that they distribute to.
Being students of the School of Philosophy and Economic Science, we knew we had a lot to offer, we have land at Townley Hall and students willing and interested in spending time working outdoors, learning about growing techniques and contributing to the community. The Walled garden is an excellent growing environment and a beautiful space to be in.
We meet at scheduled times throughout the year; usually on Saturdays at 10am, then we take a break for rest, a chat and a packed lunch, then finish at around 2pm.
