Tomorrow: Join us and CBC for Last Space Shuttle Launch get together, 10:30am ET

  • Jul 8, 2011 · 10:30 AM

Hi everyone,

Although this is a little last minute, CBC just contacted the CanadianSpace Society, an educational organization interested in astronomy andspace science, looking to tape a Toronto space group watching theshuttle launch. I have some involvement with that organization and some of us were planning to hold a viewing so we thought to therefore circulate a public invitation to boost our numbers and to make iteasier, to hold it at CFI.

We're going to be watching the final Space Shuttle launch tomorrow (Friday) morning. It's scheduled for 11:26am ET and we'll be meetingat 10:30am ET at CFI.

If you can attend please let me know by emailing [masked]

Details: http://www.nasa.gov/missions/highlights/sch...

Mission: STS-135
Launch Vehicle: Space Shuttle Atlantis
Launch Site: Kennedy Space Center - Launch Pad 39A
Launch Time: 11:26 a.m. EDT
Description: Space shuttle Atlantis will carry the Raffaello multipurpose logistics module to deliver supplies, logistics and spare parts to the International Space Station. Atlantis also will fly a system to investigate the potential for robotically refueling existing spacecraft and return a failed ammonia pump module.

There's a high probability the launch will be delayed in which case we'll follow up with new information.

Thanks

Justin Trottier
