Madison Travel Circle: Impressions of Turkey

Kent Wenger will talk about his bicycle trip through Turkey. He will focus this presentation on his impressions of the country and the people he met. He'll share stories and pictures, and give tidbits about traveling in Turkey.

Kent will start talking at 6:30. The library closes at 8:00, so he'll wrap up the presentation at around 7:45.

Could have run longer, but the library closed.

Hey, sorry I didn't get through all of my slides. I should have skipped some stuff to get to the conclusions and so on. Anyhow, feel free to send me a message if you have any questions. I really recommend Turkey as a great place to visit!

Would love to attend; Turkey is very high on my list. Alas, the Badgers are playing that evening...

My work schedule change and I can't make it! I was hoping to because I am going to Turkey at the beginning of June!

In the summer of 2012 I spent over a month in Turkey (traveling by bike), including a week in Istanbul. One of my favorite aspects of this was exploring some of the really non-touristy parts of Turkey that few Americans probably see (although, amazingly enough, I did meet a fellow Madisonian!). At any rate, I think my experience was probably a bit different than that of the "average" tourist in Turkey, and hopefully that will make my presentation interesting!
