Coastal Fish on the Fly: When and How
Capt. Dean Lamont of Crystal Coast Adventures (http://www.crystalcoastadventures.com/) will show us when and how to catch coastal fish on a fly. Species will include Atlantic Bonito, Red Drum, Spanish Mackerel, Cobia, Trout, Amberjack and False Albacore.
Speaker: Capt. Dean Lamont retired from Xerox Corp after 31 years of employment in North Carolina. He then pursued a lifelong dream of being a fishing guide. After securing his captain's license in 2000, he opened Crystal Coast Adventures. Dean grew up in New Jersey on the Delaware river and Long Beach Island and started fishing when he was four years old. Fly fishing became his passion when moving to the foothills of N.C. in ‘69 fishing the Wilson's Creek water shed. Spring will find Dean taking charters on the Roanoke River for Shad and Stripers. Mid-May thru November he fishes the Crystal Coast of N.C. Capt. Dean was an Orvis-endorsed salt water fishing guide, member of the D.M.F. central advisory board, past president of the Cape Lookout Fly Fishers, and a 20+ year member of the Triangle Fly Fishers.
