Greendrinks welcomes Vancouver-based independent journalist and author Christopher Pollon as guest speaker to provide background and information to lead our conversation about the Site C Dam. Many in our community feel this is a critical issue for the upcoming provincial election. Join us as Pollon, who reports on the politics of natural resources, focusing on energy, mines and oceans, takes us on a tour of the Peace River, and the land threatened by this project. With work published by National Geographic Books, The Walrus, Reader’s Digest, The Globe and Mail, and The Center for Investigative Journalism, Pollon has been a feature writer and contributing editor at The Tyee since 2008, and currently reports for Vancouver’s Discourse Media. The Peace in Peril, his first book, has been nominated for the George Ryga Award for Social Awareness in Literature, and is shortlisted for the 2017 Roderick Haig-Brown Regional Prize. Lucky us!
