In this session we will review techniques and strategies for developing a modern data warehousing environment. We will discuss dimensional modeling fundamentals and design patterns. Then we will explore advantages of augmenting an existing data warehouse investment with a data lake, and ideas for organizing the data lake for optimal data retrieval. Techniques for using federated queries and a "logical data warehouse" approach will also be covered.
