On a given project, data scientists can spend upwards of 80% of their time cleaning, preparing, and correcting data. In this session, we will look at different data cleansing and preparation techniques using both SQL Server and R. We will walk through the data cleansing process, and then, in the collaborative phase of the session, will work in small groups to clean up a small but realistic project's data, making it easier to analyze.
Things you may want to bring:
- A laptop.
- SQL Server. SQL Server 2016 is preferable, though older versions are also okay.
- R and R Studio/R Tools for Visual Studio.
