HIKE starting at The Swinging Bridge

  • Swinging Bridge

5120 South Street, Baltimore, MD (map)

    39.219772 -76.704681

  • Meet on the grass by PARKING LOT PAST THE SWINGING BRIDGE.  We can decide how long we want to walk.

I think it's only $2 per car on the off season? On weekends in the summer the Patapsco State Park entrance fee is $3 per person. Or $75 seasonal per car, good for all state parks.

Directions once you enter the park

The address (5120 South Street, Baltimore, MD 21227) gets you to the park entrance. After turning in the park entrance, please pay the $3 entrance fee at the booth. Continue straight ahead (for about 1.5 miles) and when you reach the intersection, take a left (there is not an option to go forward, you can only turn left or right). Follow the road TWO MILES to the  parking lot at the end of the road past the swinging bridge . Call me with any questions[masked] Rachel Swift or Wayne Martin at[masked]-1789.

We will hike about 4miles maybe.

Typically we are finish by 12:30-1pm.

You might get muddy on the trails, so dress accordingly.

Will miss U2 next week out on the trails. Hopefully we don't get "misoriented" w/o you! Lol. Have a great time camping.

I'm canceling today's hike due to the rainy, windy, raw weather. I'll take this hike off the calendar after I walk Harley but I wanted to let you know that our hike is canceled.

Thanks for trying. There will be many awesome days coming to more than make-up for it. Bummer for 2day though!

Ugg, just viewed the forcast & radar. Looks like rain all-day, heavy @ times. Looks like a wash-out. U might have to plan an extra special hike next week 2 make-up 4 it! Lol

I don't like the looks of the forecast for this hike with the puppy I don't want to risk it. See y'all next week.

Keep an eye on the weather. The weather forecast is calling for rain on Saturday and Sunday. I don't mind hiking in a light mist or intermittent light rain but if on Sunday morning it looks like it will be continuously raining during our hike then I will cancel this hike. If we hike, we can decide if we want to stick to the paved trails or venture out onto the dirt trails. Keeps your fingers crossed for no rain.
