“Find Peace, for a moment.” Saturday evening, Jan. 26th. Meet at 6:00 p.m. by the ramada in front of Sabino Canyon Visitors’ Center. Now, once again, discover that rarest of phenomena, Silence, at road’s end in Sabino, as you lie back, absorbed in darkness/brightness of the night. We ask that people be silent when they get to the top of the road so that all of us can enjoy being with nature in peace and quiet. Conversation is OK at every other point along the way, however, and people enjoy socializing during, as well as after the hike. We also attempt to be without external mind-altering distractions of technology, in order to tune internally to the beauty of the Canyon Cathedral itself. No cell phones, pagers, or flash cameras, except for emergencies. Flashlight use on a spot basis, only when unavoidable, or if snakes pay an unexpected visit during our hike. 7.5 mi. Round Trip, all on road. Call Larry at 577-2444 after 3 p.m. daily or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org for more information, or weather updates day of hike. Free visit from I Cougar.
