I am leading this hike for the "friends of ironwood forest national monument".
If you are interested in going, you MUST contact Lahsha (see next sentence...):
"All hikes have a 20-person limit and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
RSVP required in advance to [masked] or[masked]-2092."
We will carpool from the marana airport. It is not too far of a drive from there.
We will hike approx 6 miles RT in IFNM to find some elephant trees. Most of the hike is flat but there might be 500 feet of elevation change to see all the trees. They are extremely cool sonoran desert trees a bit too cold sensitive to be found closer to Tucson.
They will have been damaged somewhat by the recent freeze but hopefully they are coming back to life. They can be extremely sweet smelling. The first time I saw them there, we smelled them before we saw them!
If you sign up, you are absolutely expected to show up....
As you can see, people are not signing up here. If you are coming, you are welcome to leave a comment here.
If you have any questions, you can also call me at 906 2436.
