Let's check out a new trail. Well, it's a new trail for me. And I've heard that the wild flowers are amazing on this trail. This should be a fun and easy hike. Beginners are welcome. As this is a hike to enjoy the beauty of nature, we won't be in a race. I expect the entire hike to be about 3 hours, give or take 30 minutes.
Elevation gain: approx. 700 ft
Length: Approximately 5.2 miles.
To save on entrance fees to the park ($7 per car), we will meet at the Chase Bank across the street from the entrance to Catalina State Park at 8:45 AM. We will be departing Chase Bank at 8:50, so please be on time if you want to carpool. For those going directly to the park, the carpoolers should be at the parking lot at the end of the park road by about 9 AM.
What to bring:
A couple of dollars to pay for the entrance fee (if carpooling from Chase) At least 2 liters of water. Snacks Sunscreen Camera HIKE AT YOUR OWN RISK
****** UPDATE: EVERYONE GOES ******
Maja has graciously volunteered to lead a second group for this hike. We will all be meeting at the same time as stated above. Once we get to the park, we will separate into two groups. After the first group leaves, the second group will wait 15 minutes before departing.
