Time to explore the wine side of our name (TC Comedy and Wine, in case you missed the Meetup banner page). This will be the first in a series of wine bar meetups around the Twin Cities. Well, I hope it's a series. I guess if this totally sucks, I won't do any more. But I don't think it's gonna suck. I've actually been to Toast and it's pretty cool.
We'll meet Friday after work around 6. You can get there earlier, you can get there later. I just picked 6 because it's when I could get there. Note that there is a happy hour from 5-6 (the only happy hour that I've seen that's actually an hour). I'm going to try and get there before 6, I just can't guarantee it - my boss being Ebenezer Scrooge and all.
Here's a link to Toast: http://toastwinebarandcafe.com/ As you can see (assuming you clicked the link) they have small plates and a nice selection of wines. Since this is the first one of these I've done I'm not totally sure what I'm going do with it. I'm sort of thinking of providing some structure by picking a varietal or two. This will allow us to venture beyond what's available by the glass and get into some bottles. We can maybe do a little pairing with some food too. If you have some suggestions or favorites after looking at the menu and wine list, do share.
Afterwards, if we're up to it, we can go somewhere else to actually eat (these are just small plates after all) or we might head over to Bev's for a preview of the next wine bar meetup.
As Lou Reed once said "Hey babe, take a walk on wine side". At least that's what I heard him say.
See you there.
