Nepal still needs us to come and Be Trekkers. Take in the wilderness, culture, and beauty of the country, and pay them to port us, feed us, guide us, and house us. That's it. That's the best thing we can do for them.
This time of year is a great time to go to Nepal, with clear skies and cold temps, but not too cold.
Annapurna Base Camp is only at 4500 m. Its not as hard as Everest Base Camp. This is a great starting point if Kilimanjaro or Everest Base Camp are intimidating the heck out of you. The ascents are more gradual (mostly) and you have less altitude to gain and thus much lower risk of any altitude sickness.
The trek is also cheaper than Everest Base Camp and shorter. There is still no time to mess around, as the itinerary is made to fit into the 10 days (exactly!) that you have without taking more leave time.
DEPARTURE: Late afternoon. Thursday.
Get to Nepal by nightfall! Friday morning: you'll head to Pokhara and take a jeep to the starting point.
The full itinerary will be sent to those who RSVP.
You'll be back at work by the following Sunday.
