Narrative walk and and hike along the popular 4T Trail

There have been several new in town folks on recent walks asking about the 4T trail. This is a popular Portland loop that includes the 4 Ts: Trail from Washington Park to OHSU, Tram from OHSU to South Waterfront, Trolley from South Waterfront to Downtown, and Train from downtown to Washington Park. We will complete this loop while I share highlights of many of the points along the way including:

  • 4T trail
  • Oregon Zoo
  • Washington Park MAX station
  • Council Crest
  • Marquam Nature Preserve
  • OHSU
  • South Waterfront

The hiking section is approximately 4 miles with about 600 feet in elevation gain. We won't go too fast, but you should be comfortable hiking. Though we will be going to the highest point in Portland, most of that is covered by the elevator that takes us up to the zoo!

Events start promptly at time indicated. Bring rain gear if it rains.

You can park in the zoo parking lot or take MAX. If the lot is full, the zoo provides a shuttle bus, which adds about 20 minutes, so please give yourself extra time if you decide to drive.

Cost for this event is $10. Please bring $2.50 for train fare if you do not have a Tri-Met pass.

    Hi Tom...
I'm not sure if I can make it or not. If it's last minute, can I simply stop by and bring the $10?

      That's fine James

The tram, trolley, and train require pets to be in containers.

I am going to have to miss out on this today. My asthma has gotten the best of me and don't want to slow up the group. Hopefully some other time! Enjoy

This is my first meet up with the group. Are we allowed to pay the $10 cash on arrival?

Really looking forward to Saturday and sharing a bunch of fun facts with you on my newest tour. You'll get plenty of good information to share on future hikes with family and friends.
