Every year Tigard hosts the Festival of Ballooons. Early in the morning they launch the hot air balloons into the sky, and in the evening, they fill the balloons with light. The balloons will not leave the ground in the evening, but watching all the balloons fill and light up at night is beautiful.
We will meet in downtown Tualitin and walk around the lake before heading north along the Tualitin river to Cook park where we can get something to eat before watching the balloons launch.
There is food and entertainment at the festival, and by food I mean hot dogs, bbq, funnel cakes, cotton candy. All the goodness of a summer fair!
The round trip walk is 4 miles, and we should return around 11PM, depending on when the balloons light up.
Cost is $15 which includes 3-day ticket to the festival.
