We are going to hike from the Orchard Lake Campground through the Greenville watershed. Trail has good Winter views. This is a nice hike. We will turn around at Hogback Mountain Road and backtrack.
Gas gratuity: $5
Park fee: no fee
To my friends/fellow hikers:
There will be a sign up sheet at the Meetup for you to sign in with your full name. Please be prepared to provide an emergency contact and telephone number. If you haven’t done much hiking, please contact me via email to discuss whether or not you should do this hike.
All my hikes are exploratory. What does this mean? It means that I have probably never done this hike before. I try to pick hikes that are popular in hiking circles and well known but not always. I have a map and directions. That being said, I need to keep the group together for these reasons so no one gets lost or hurt. Please hike behind the designated leader and stop at all turns on the trail so we can keep the group together.
If the weather for the hike day looks very bad, I will try and cancel the night before or by 7 a.m. the day of the hike at the latest. If you are coming from farther away, please provide me with a phone number so I can call you.
Alternative directions to the trailhead will be posted if you want to meet there. If you want to carpool from some other location, you will need to post with your RSVP and try to work that out with your fellow hikers.
My goal as a hike leader is to stay safe, have a fun hike, and explore new places with new and old friends!
