Hi,
Due to the projected weather, it is almost certain we will be hiking the stone place trail in Tallulah gorge state park.
This is a permit required trail (free permit) hopefully it will be open. Failing that we will fall back and hike part of the Bartram trail near Rabun.
We will be getting in about 10 miles of hiking which ever path we trod.
The trail head to the original hike out side of Highlands is up over goldmine road to a twisty FS road. This road hangs in places off the mountain, and will not be plowed or sanded. I am not sure we can safely drive up there.
Should the storm turn and the roads be clear we will do the original hike.

If the state park is closed we will head into the woods and hike up to Jones Gap, near Rabun, Ga some of you did this hike with us last spring.
We will have a hike if at all possible.
Iced up rocky overlooks are not a good thing to hike on. Iced up roads are not a good thing to drive on. If I need to cancel the hike due to the driving conditions I will email all of you early in the morning.
