This is a great annual event that is celebrated all over the US in bicycle friendly cities and towns. Attendance seems to grow every year so there is always a nice crew to come out and socialize with during and after the ride. Hans has invited everyone out as early as 1030am for a pre-ride beverage and to socialize but the actual ride does not start until 12 noon.
Hope to see you there!
Details and web link for the event
This year's event will be in Downtown San Diego. The route is still being worked out but the start will be at theMission Brewery in the historic Wonder Bread building. The route should take us through the downtown area, into the Gaslamp Quarter, along the waterfront and into East Village. It should be flat and easy for all skill levels and all ages.
Continuing a San Diego tradition, we have a leisurely paced ride where the participants are encouraged to dress in classic tweed or any smart looking outfit. Any effort made to recreate the spirit of a bygone era is also appreciated. Any and all bicycles are acceptable, yet vintage "steel" is praised. Add some wicker baskets to carry your sundry goods and you'll fit right in.
