This just in! Upon discussion with the inner tribal leaders of the Urban Bike and Social Club I have decided to announce a meeting point and ride for tomorrow's festivities. That and it will be kick ass to role in 40-50 members deep just from our humble little bike club.
This is what we worked out. Meet at the Alibi at 930am on university ave in Hill Crest. Gary has swore on his deep gerbils grave that they have the best/cheapest bloody maries this side of the Mississippi! ( He however did not mention how said gerbil died! :)) We will hang for one round and then pedal down as a group to a tasty little breakfast burrito joint right outside of the Golden Hill park. After a little breakfast we can then join the merry minions of the Tour da Fat for their 11am parade ride.
From there its anyone's game! Come in costume and come ready to have an amazing day! And bring your ID and Cash for beer tokens and b-fast money!
And as always bring a friend or two!
Your fearless leader
Details still brewing, but this is usually one of the wackiest and most fun bicycle culture events of the year. New Belgium Brewery has basically put together a touring bicycle culture road show of song, dance, and carnival type entertainment all revolving around bikes and good beverages. All beverage sales go to support SDCBC and SDMBA. Its also basically my birthday so we usually do a bit of a pre-event for Bloody Mary's and breakfast and then ride over in costume. Just to give you a visual I think Andrea and I have decided to be has been road cycle racers sporting old bicycle racing kits, big bellies from lack of cycling, gray hair, and probably a cape for good measure!
Details brewing, but I'll up date and announce this soon but plan on joining us for a super fun day!
