Elephant & Castle Summer Pub Trivia League - Week 10 of 10

Now with Team Awesome*

The Brainstormer Trivia League is back, and it's another opportunity to grab your share of hundreds of dollars in prizes. It all leads up to the Battle in Seattle between the top teams from another bar.

Looking for something to do with your Monday nights? Why not bring your brain downtown for some start-of-the-week-fun and match your wits (or at least your memory of semi-useless knowledge) against your fellow Seattleites while helping our team 'Bangers & Mash' maintain one of the top rankings in the league?

The great thing about pub trivia is that everybody knows something, so everyone can have fun. Maybe you don't know who won Super Bowl XXIV (the 49ers) but you might know who invented the first American-patented sewing machine (Elias Howe). And there's nothing to lose by playing. Elephant & Castles pub trivia is free—other than what you may spend on drinks and snacks—and we play from our table, so the shame of getting an easy answer wrong is kept between you and your teammates. The Happy Hour menu ends at 6:00 so feel free to arrive early and get to know your teammates before the game, which starts at 6:30 and ends approximately at 8:30. Our team usually has a table reserved "somewhere" (we try to be in the large section behind the hostess station) so look a familiar face or ask the hostess to seat you with Bangers & Mash (they know us well).

PLEASE HAVE YOUR RSVP UPDATED BY SUNDAY AT NOON so people on the waiting list have time to adjust their schedules if they are moved onto the attendee list. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR RSVP and that of your guest (if applicable). If your RSVP is yes, then please show up to play or you will be marked as a no-show. If you have been placed on the waiting list, please check your status Monday afternoon in case last minute cancellations moved you onto the attendee list. Additionally, trivia teams at E&C can not have more than 8 players each so please DO NOT show up to play unless you are on the official attendee list, or unless you are bringing a team of your own for the night, or unless you want to play on Team Awesome*.

* Team Awesome: Because of the overwhelming response and because we always have a waiting list for this we are now having an overflow team called Team Awesome. Team Awesome is not a "league team" so there is no problem playing on both teams during a tournament. If you are on the waiting list or just want to show up last minute you can play on Team Awesome. Team Awesome is just like a regular team but is not eligible for the championship playoffs. We'll sit across from Bangers and Mash but not collaborate. If you're new to Monday night trivia we'll still be there to explain the rules and so forth. I encourage anyone on the waiting list or anyone who isn't sure they can make it to show up and play for Team Awesome. Team Awesome is like that. Special thanks to Steve for creating Team Awesome.
