Getting Started With Plugin Development: Development Environments

This is the first of a series of meetings we are going to be having on plugin development. The goal is to help you understand the basics of developing a plugin and eventually submitting a plugin to the WordPress.org plugin repository.

In this first meeting we're going to cover how to setup your local development environment. The first part of the meeting we'll cover what tools we personally use and why along with advantages and potential disadvantages. After that we'll spend the rest of the meeting helping those in attendance get their local development environments setup.
