HOW IT WORKS
Every third Thursday we'll meet in the evening to talk about a UX related book. It would of course be great if you get round to actually reading the book; however, if you only manage to read parts of it, that is totally fine, too. We will provide a short summary at the beginning to refresh your memory and to make sure everyone can take part in the discussion.
WHAT'S THIS MONTH'S BOOK?
Cathy O'Neil - Weapons of Math Destruction.
What are the algorithmic models that govern how digital products are built, and how do they impact our lifes? What can we as UX designers do about this?
Come and join the discussion on this fascinating topic!
WHAT EXACTLY HAPPENS AT THE UXWIEN BOOK CLUB?
After a short round of introductions, we will jump right in with a summary of the book’s main topics. For the discussion, we have some questions prepared–if you get a chance, we would love for you to also think of some questions or topics you want to discuss.
And last, but not least, we will vote for the next books to read. Please think of some suggestions and add them here: https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/773074-ux-vienna-book-club.
Since most UX books are in English, we will mostly stick to English - if everybody speaks German, too, we can mix it up :)
HOW ABOUT FOOD AND DRINKS?
We will provide some drinks and small snacks. For proper food, we can order dinner at the beginning of the evening.
