This is posted at both Davis Activity Partners and Vacaville Outdoor Adventures and Social Group. Please sign up at only one of those groups depending on where you want to meet for carpooling. Davis signups will meet at Big 5 Sporting Goods at 8:00 am. Vacaville signups can meet at the Park and Ride in Vacaville at 7:30 am to carpool to Davis or the trailhead. Please change your RSVP to "not going" if you change your mind about coming.

I hike fast, so I will stop periodically to regroup if I haven't seen the people behind me for a while, especially at intersections and any place people might get lost. People who get ahead of me should do the same.

Click here for the Ten Essentials. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ten_Essentials) Not everyone brings all ten for every hike, but everyone should at least bring extra water, extra food, extra clothing, and a head lamp or flashlight on every hike.

Facilities on the hike: maybe at Big Silver Group Camp near where we will park?

Click here for driving directions to Big Silver Group Camp (https://goo.gl/maps/XRN8w8bugkAHqtCu8). The drive from Davis should take an hour and 50 minutes plus a bit more if we make a pit stop at Fresh Pond after Pollock Pines. The directions are simple: Take Highway 50 east until you turn left on Ice House Road, a slow, steep, and winding road. Drive 16-17 miles while crossing three bridges. Shortly after the third bridge, you will find an unsigned road on the right with Big Silver Group Camp nearby on the left. Park on the roadside at that intersection.

Click here for map of the hike to Bassi Falls (https://www.mapmyhike.com/routes/view/1591492708). I've been to Bassi Falls before and extended the hike to the top to look around. This time, we will extend the hike maybe two miles or so further upstream and off trail to look for a 10' waterfall that's supposed to be there, so the full hike will probably be 10-12 miles out and back. The part beyond Bassi Falls looks like it will require some rock hopping.
