There's a great new scene in the east valley. The Ragin' Cajun brings the new First String Event, Rhythm Street Sessions on Thursday nights at 8pm.
PLEASE RSVP if you are meeting up for the dinner or just come for the music and party.
Whether you like to dance to Funky Blues rhythms or simply kick back and enjoy some Jazz and R&B, this is the happening place to do it every Thursday. The home of Scottsdale’s historic Blue Note marks the spot, easy exit off Loop 101, on McDowell and a stone's throw east of Hayden Road. The Ragin' Cajun is name and the event is hosted by me, Buzz Fowler.
What's in store? First and foremost, great music!
Each week, I'll have one of the valley's best rhythm sections laying down the groove, namely bassist Dominic Therrien and drummer Chris Strong. Regularly, I'll be having some of the valley’s top artists sit in with us as I host the party and play some low down and Funky Blues on the harp.
Then there's the "straight from Louisiana" Cajun food!
Ragin’ Cajun’s Galicia Family from Lake Charles, Louisiana offers authentic Cajun and Creole style cooking. Family recipes include just about everything from Jambalaya, Gumbo and Catfish, to Crawfish Étouffée, Alligator and Shrimp. Combine that with your favorite Abita Brew or other potation and you've got a recipe for "it's almost the weekend" fun!
