    Hey Rob or Jayson,

I was browsing around Front Sight's web page and I noticed that they have certain handguns that are NOT allowed. The handgun that I was planning on training with is a Ruger LC9s and that is one of the specific guns on Front Sight's list of not being allowed. Are there any exceptions? I have two other handguns I could train with but I would prefer to use my LC9.

Here's the page I was looking at: https://www.frontsight.com/firearms-training/handguns.asp

The Shield is acceptable if you have a proper holster and at least 4 magazines. With a low capacity weapon, you'll be doing a lot of magazine changes and replenishing your depleted magazines. I would suggest wearing cargo pants with pockets to carry loose ammo so you can reload empty mags without walking off the line.

Can't beat the price of $100 - I've been there and spent a few $1,000. I'd like to go on this one! Question. I have two memberships with Front Sight - "Citizen Soldier" and "Communicator" - would you still need to do a "transfer of certificate"?

Rob, thanks for the info. However, rather than signing up thru front Sight, I would like to pay the $100 to you and sign up as a part of this fun-loving group!

    • Rob H.

Save yourself the 100 because you have to sign up through Frontsight anyway.

    Are there still spaces left?

Richard Kim - I've been to Front Sight and they have banned the Serpa holster (I had one and was not allowed to use it). It's my understanding that they now have banned all other holsters that use a retention.

The best holsters to use are the molded kydex holsters with passive retention. There are several companies to choose from .like Blade-Tec, Galco, and some Blackhawk holsters, as well as other gun specific holster manufacturers. There is a small company in Mesa that custom makes kydex holsters if you can't find one for your weapon You can use an IWB as long as it doesn't collapse when the pistol is presented. If you have to somehow open it to re-holster your gun, it is not acceptable and is unsafe. You will be carrying for 10 hours a day so it better be comfortable.

If you want to get a sample of what you will experience in this class, I have a training class scheduled at Ben Avery, Pistol Range #3 at 12:30 pm on Sunday, November 6th. This class also qualifies for the AZ CCW and I have the application packets available. The cost is normally 75.00 but for group members it is 60.00. If you are interested, please let me know and I will give you more details and equipment requirements. The class fills up fast and I have just a few openings available.

Won't able to commit until very late in the game. Wondering if they cover firefights in total dark.

They do not cover night shooting in the 4 day hand gun course. However, if you graduate from this course you can take their advanced courses which includes engaging threats in low or no light, using hand guns or rifles, depending upon which course you take. Some of the advanced courses are also quite physical and require additional equipment.

I didn't say I don't know how to manage my money. I simply meant that it will depend on the availability of disposable funds at that time.

Sorry, I can help create some extra funds if you or anyone else needs help. I have learned how to help others and it helps us. Many local business will give nice referral fees for sending them business. Its less costly for local business to pay for a referral than to pay for advertising throught tv, ads, radio or other print. Happy to help. Didn't mean to say it like I did. [masked]

What an AWESOME opportunity at a world-class and most highly regarded Institution/Training Facility! Remember, when you are 'uncomfortable' (like with 'new' skill building), YOU ARE USUALLY GROWING! Thanks for arranging/offering this Jayson!
