Freelance Camp 2011!!!

Do you work with freelancers or is a freelancer yourself?

We will be hosting our second annual Freelance Camp on September 10th! Be an attendee or a presenter at the event. Learn from your peers and experts in the freelancing world. The sessions, nominated and chosen by participants across all areas of expertise, will focus on topics ranging from how to set up a consultancy and use marketing to attract clients, to public relation, accounting for “solopreneurs” and so much more. Freelance Camp’s relaxed environment encourages discussion, interaction and the open exchange of ideas.

Date: September 10th

Time: 9 – 5 (arrive early if you want to present)

Where: The Network Hub (New Westminster location, across the street from New Westminster Skytrain Station)

Cost: $10 with 100% of proceeds going to charity

    I think that for only a $10 registration fee - the event was incredible. As an event planner i was impressed.
    Thing i noticed that could be improved upon (some need money and some don't)
    1. Need more water jugs.
    2. The pitch idea is interesting. But, there seemed to be the same topics being shared at the same time in different rooms.
    3. The title of the pitch was not enough for me to make my decisions on which sessions to attend. A brief description or even a pic of the presenter would have helped jog my memory about thier pitch. I feel that i attended a couple of sessions that i would have normally skipped, and missed a couple that i would have love to have attended.
    4. Room signs would be helpful. There was much confusion as to where the rooms were. I felt embarrassed when i had left a session to attend the correct session
    5. Maybe more information on the name badges.
    Overall - fantastic! I know how much work it takes to create an event like that!
