What we're about

For now, business, branding, blogging and PR events will be displayed on the Vancouver Sweatpants Sorority Calendar here https://www.meetup.com/VancouverWomensEvent... where all events for all of the regions and topics will be posted in one place. These events really are no dress-code and you will love the quality of women we attract.

Casual, NO DRESS-CODE gatherings for intimidation-free personal development, business, branding, social media and photography topics... is this real? YES. There are plenty of women's meetups out there for people who enjoy dressing up and putting their professional game-face on... THIS IS NOT THAT GROUP lol. No really. This isn't a situation where we say to show up in sweatpants but everyone still curls their hair and feels they have to meet a certain fashion standard. There is no standard. You can even bring a blanket to cuddle and reading socks if you like!

Group Culture:
SWEATPANTS + Business Strategies?
YOGA PANTS + Blogging Tips?
JEANS + Tech Tutorials?

In my opinion, we all know how to behave, put on a suit and comb our hair, but sometimes a formal situation prevents us from getting off of our asses and SHOWING UP. It also encourages way too much behaving. Our members have confessed that they have lost hundreds of dollars in event ticket investments, where they purchased in advance but stayed at home. It is way too easy to stay home when we know we have to spend two hours rushing around and looking polished, just to learn something new and meet some new friends. Personally, I love dressing and I love looking forward to polished events, but I see a need for more accessible experiences designed for busy women. Sometimes we have to be able to shut off image-consciousness and just BE! Especially for the mothers out there who find it hard to get out of the house feeling like a bombshell, this is for you. Roll in with a messy bun, yoga pants and baby puke on your shirt if you have to lol. Are you a fitness professional? Roll in sweaty with a baseball cap on... we ain't judgin'.

I would rather you show up AS YOU ARE, than see you miss out because you are afraid of not "fitting the image" of my group. There is no image for this group. Our culture is built on everyone's easy-going attitudes - this is an inclusive, community-minded tribe of women who have a sense of humour, can think for themselves, and are not easily offended. If you genuinely enjoy meeting new people with different outlooks on life and business, this is for you. Let's celebrate our differences but bond over our shared healthy obsession with self improvement and exploring goals.
