Listening Session: The Cure to Complaining - $5

  • May 22, 2013 · 6:30 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Please note this event is WAIT LIST ONLY. This is NOT first-come, first-served, as I need to be able to pick the people who I feel will most benefit from the material and be a supportive asset to the entire group. First-timers are still welcome if there is enough space. (max 16 seats). There is a $5 charge for this event, to help me cover the cost of the program. The venue also asks everyone to spend a minimum of $5 for the use of the room ($10 total).

I recently purchased a program called The Cure to Complaining by Alison Armstrong and I would love us all to listen together and learn how to cure our own complaints and those of the people around us. You will learn why complaining is a relationship, intimacy and passion KILLER. You will also learn how to transform your partner's complaints from something annoying and toxic, to a deeper understanding of his or her needs and values.

If you recognize yourself as a complainer, or you are just sick of other people complaining, you will want to join us and help remove the burden of complaining!

In the days leading up to the event, it may help you to notice what you complain about and how you feel when others complain (what impact does it have on your thoughts, feelings, energy level, mood and perception of the past and future?) If you're brave enough, ask other people how YOUR complaints impact them.

I have the room booked for next Friday night and I am debating on what to use it for. I could do another women's only listening session (I would be re-playing the core videos for the first 45 mins and then delving into new material)... OR, I could do a co-ed session... but then we would only be able to listen to some of the recording and it's challenging to coordinate schedules for more than one night. Any thoughts? Preferences?

I have learned in my 61 year's of life on the street's of Vancouver when you end up complaining about something you just end up bringing more of the same upon yourself and that make's for a life not even worth living so now I make it a habit too never complain about any thing any more that way you end up having a far better quaulity of life

Kudus to Marie for creating this meetup. Yes, complaining is not positive for a relationship.

Chronic complaining is also a likely indicatiton of a bigger problem, i.e. an actual mental disorder. Which if NPD, is, according to Sam Vaknin, not repairable, sadly.

Hi,if you are on the waiting list and you haven't spoke with me directly, it is because you haven't answered the questions yet. This may be due to using your cel phone app. Try logging on with your home computer so the questions come up for you. Thanks :)

Looks like I have a 50/50 chance I have to work Wednesday so I'll have to cancel for now. If there is space and I can make it I'll change my RSVP.
