Hello Everyone! Please join me for the Vancouver premiere screening of "Last Men Standing". Ages 14+ welcome!
This is a Reel Causes' event in support of Positive Living BC as part of World AIDS Day.
Across North America and throughout most developed countries, AIDS has become an older person’s disease: more than half of those living with AIDS or HIV, the virus that causes it, are now 50 or older. In San Francisco alone, 6,000 gay men have been living with HIV or AIDS for at least 20 years. Some have been able to thrive. This moving documentary follows 8 survivors of AIDS in their lives that they never thought they would live to see - finding unexpected life and love.
There will be a chance for you to connect with the great folks at Positive Living BC, learn about their work, and join in a post-film discussion: ‘Remembering The Survivors,’ with Positive Living, participants in the film, and local long term HIV survivors.
Depending on everyone's interest, we'll also go for a snack/drinks at La Casita after the event to continue the conversation!
Tickets are available in advance through Universe, or at the door.
