Evergreen Toastmasters Weekly Meeting

Effective communication is the key to success and happiness ... at home, work and play.

Evergreen 973 Toastmasters Club is over 60 years old. We continue a fine tradition as a not-for-profit organization that helps those who wish to improve their public speaking skills. We also teach leadership and meeting management.

Evergreen is people helping people in a safe, gentle atmosphere of practice and fun.

Guests can drop by for free. When you become a Member of Evergreen 973, you automatically become a member of Toastmasters International Organization (www.toastmasters.org).

We have three main formats for success: Our Competent Communications Manual (CC Manual) carefully guides you through 10 Projects (prepared speeches) that lays the foundation for all kinds of effective communications.

Our Competent Leadership Manual also has 10 Projects that enhances your skills as an organizer and manager.

Our Agenda helps guide you through an entire meeting process so that everyone gets to participate and contribute while keeping everything on track and on time.

Evergreen 973 is an open club ... all are welcome. Evergreen is known for its casual, laid-back style and English-as-Second Language friendly culture.

Drop by as a guest to experience fun, laughter and inspiration. Evergreen may be the perfect club for you!

"Ice Breaker" is all about telling stories. Stories are in our DNA! People love stories, so whenever you tell a good story with a powerful ending, people remember it! :-)

This is something I never really thought about! Paying attention to the audience is a new concept, I am so busy paying attention to my notes I sometimes I don't notice anything else. Practice is boring but there is absolutely no substitute for it.

Using Pathos, which is one of the three pillars of public speaking or rhetoric, in your speech can make listeners feel your speech.
