Weekend Events

From: Ben M.

I hope most you saw I scheduled a event this Sunday to take a trip to NYC. I know it seems a long way for a bake sale but we can certainly plan other vegan things to do in NYC.

I also would like to inform anyone who did not see that the North CT Veg Society is having an event Sunday as well:
January 31, Sunday, 5 PM Northern Connecticut Vegetarian Society's potluck will have ?Sproutman? Steve Meyerowitz as the featured speaker. He will show us how totally feasible it is to provide luscious, organic greens from your soil-free kitchen garden to your dinner table in the middle of winter! Bring a healthy vegan dish to share along with a note card listing your recipe and your name. Also, please bring your place setting (plate, cup, and utensils). A donation of $8 per adult is requested. Children are free. The Carniglia Senior Center, 41 Oak Street, Windsor Locks, CT, is the location for this event. Free parking is available in a large lot across from the Center. For more information, telephone Harry at[masked] or email Harry at [address removed].

Also if I could stray from the specifically vegan events for a moment if you are looking for something to do in New Haven on Saturday night there is a benefit party going on David Steever at Cafe Romeo, 534 Orange Street from 8-10. David is a local bicycle activist in New Haven and he was hit by a car a few months ago. He is recovering but his medical bills from the accident have added up to more than $65,000. If you can afford $20 or $25 it would really help him out and it should be a fun party.

Hope to see ya soon
