Demand Justice for Kitty, killed in clothes dryer- & ALL ABUSED ANIMALS!

This event is organized by Kiya's Angels, an ad hoc group that formed after the Puppy Doe case.

DEMAND JUSTICE for "KITTY", killed in clothes dryer- & ALL ABUSED ANIMALS!

Tuesday, March 4, 2014

12:00 PM Norfolk Superior Court Department

650 High Street, Dedham, MA

We will be standing on the sidewalk to the right of the entrance- NOT blocking the entrance to the courthouse.

Tues. March 4th, 12 Noon, Dedham. Stand with us to demand JUSTICE for ALL abused animals!

Her name was KITTY.

She was a beautiful, sweet & beloved INDOOR cat. The Quincy couple accused of KILLING KITTY in a clothes dryer in MAY - apparently while they were in her home as guests and babysitting for a 2 year old child- are still OUT - on a ludicrous $5,0000 and $10,000 bail. They are scheduled to be in court again on Tuesday, March 4th. In memory of our sweet KIYA ("Puppy Doe") please STAND WITH US to DEMAND JUSTICE for KITTY and ALL abused animals!

Disclaimer: Please keep in mind that in the eyes of the law, all defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty.

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE:

12:00- 1:30: PEACEFUL DEMONSTRATION

We will stand on the sidewalk in front of the courthouse with signs demanding ZERO TOLERANCE, NO BAIL & MANDATORY JAIL TIME FOR ALL CONVICTED ANIMAL ABUSERS. We have some beautiful professional signs generously donated by East Coast Printing of Weymouth- or bring your own (Please consult the "guidance for signs and slogans" thread in the discussions forum)* 1:30 - BEGIN MOVING INTO COURTROOM NOTE: we will need to go through security- please dress accordingly. No signs are allowed in the courtroom.

2:00 - PEACEFUL OBSERVATION of HEARING

We will sit quietly in the courtroom to observe proceedings. IMPORTANT: Disruptions of ANY kind are detrimental to our cause. Be assured that anyone causing any type of distrubance is **NOT ASSOCIATED with our group**

POST-HEARING: Some of us will walk down the street for coffee. Several cafes are in close proximity.

Although Kitty's case was not as high-profile as Kiya's, it is NO LESS IMPORTANT. It is possibly EVEN MORE IMPORTANT that we be there. Kiya's case has received so much publicity that we have a greater chance of a stiff sentence- whereas with little-known cases such as Kitty's we run the serious risk of the MONSTERS who murdered her being set free with little more than a slap on the wrist. Stand with us to demand ZERO tolerance for companion animal abuse!

Parking: There is reportedly a large parking lot across the street- park for $5 all day- AND some metered street parking @ .25 an hour. There is also a FREE lot a few blocks down- in front of "Staples".

Even if you can't come, you can help tremendously by posting the link to this event widely! Please see "discussions" for tips.

*IMPORTANT: By RSVPing to this event, you agree to conduct yourself in a professional, respectful and law-abiding manner. The behavior of every individual reflects on us as a whole and on the light in which our cause is seen. You also agree that you and you alone are responsible for your behavior and safety while in attendance. Anyone not capable of controlling their emotions in court is NOT representative of our group and will be immediately removed from the mailing list.

Please read the thread at the Kiya's Angels meetup titled "Guidance for Signs & Slogans" before making your signs to be sure they are in line with the message of our group. For maximum effectivness, we ask that you AVOID using graphic photos on your signs and that you NOT use the phrase "Animal rights" (please see discussion/logic behind this on the Kiya's Angels discussion board).

KIYA'S ANGELS also needs VOLUTEERS to fill key positions to help us bring about POSITIVE CHANGE for animals. We especially need you if you have experience in marketing, publicity, advertising, photography, graphic art, public speaking, or organizational skills OR if you have any media or CELEBRITY CONNECTIONS that could help us! Please MESSAGE ME PRIVATELY at [masked] if you can help.
