  • Dining out The Friendly Toast, Burlington,MA
We won last time! $50 gift card to The Friendly Toast. : ) (We need to remember not to pay our bills ahead of time so we can use same night. So Claudia, Ellen, John, Brian and Amy you each have $10 for the next round.) The Friendly Toast in Burlington has a good number of vegan options and Thursday nights is game night. Teams play against each other in rounds of a Family Feud style game (they call it Opinionation). Amy and I went a few weeks ago and it was fun. We had the lead for a while! but then.. well...let just say in the end we didn't land 1st place. And it didn't even matter - the food is delicious. ;) The game starts at 7:00. Playing the game is not required. Come on out to just enjoy conversation and dinner if that is your preference. There is time between rounds to chitchat. : ) https://thefriendlytoast.com/menu/ P.S. The Friendly Toast is at the Burlington Mall but the only entrance is from outside. You can not enter The Friendly Toast from inside the mall. If you enter the mall parking lot from Middlesex Turnpike, go to the otherside of the mall and when walking up to the mall main entrance door...don't use it... walk to the left and you'll find The Friendly Toast. It's the second door to the left of the mall entrance door. Victoria #[masked]

  • Book Club Discussion - Millennial Vegan by Casey T. Taft, PhD
Please join us for our next book club discussion, Millennial Vegan by Casey T. Taft, PhD The book can be purchased directly through Vegan Publishers https://veganpublishers.com/multimedia-archive/millennial-vegan There is a lot of great information in only 120 pages. So we thought it would be a good book to read in time before the holiday season begins. I have started reading it and you don't need to be between 15 and 34, all ages can benefit from reading it. : ) About the book: Millennials, people between the ages of 15 and 34, make up nearly half of the current vegan population. Despite being dealt a bad deal by prior generations, this generation is increasingly able to see past all the ways our society indoctrinates us to use nonhuman animals. Millennial Vegan offers support to this important group by providing tips for advocacy, strategies for communicating with unsupportive peers, dealing with bullying and managing anger, advice on issues related to dating, and information on maintaining personal well-being. The movement for nonhuman animals depends on the support of millennials, and this guide will help this already aware group maximize their ability to be the best vegan advocates they can be.
